Loosekaboose's favourite guests to return for our final party for 2008. The night will feature a live performance by DAVE BASEK recently signed to the LONGdistanceRECORDINGS label and DJ set by Junkbeats Collective member PHIL SMART. The guests are combined with the always exceptional Loosekaboose residents Jimi Polar, Claire Morgan, Trinity and Jay Smalls.
With a groundwork in musicality that stretches back to his classical training in his youth, Dave Basek is one of our country’s most recognisable figures within the international tech house scene and he’s been doing his thing for well over a decade now. John Digweed, James Zabelia, Hernan Cattano – they’ve all played Basek’s tracks at one point or another. And his latest project sees him joining the happy stable at Long Distance Recordings, the recently formed record label of Australian veteran Mark Dynamix AKA MDX.
Dave Baseks live stage set up includes a MPC1000 64-track sampler/sequencer, Yamaha 01v Digital Mixing Desk , FF400 audio I/O audio interface and a laptop running Ableton Live. Everything in Daves set is done on the fly, he doesn't play prearranged tracks, so it is really a live set.
