After a recent hiatus we have decided it was about time to stage a good old fashioned, proper knees-up of a yuletide party with two of our favourite guests…!
We are very pleased to welcome back Charles Webster and Martin ‘Atjazz’ Iveson. Both have performed memorable sets at Diasha within the last year and we are extremely happy to present them performing as their production project, ‘Version’.
Neither Charles nor Martin needs much introduction, other than to say that they are two of the finest House producers to emerge from the UK - period. With a combined career that spans over twenty years producing some of the freshest House sounds, performing at most if not all of the worlds coolest clubs and remixing the elite, both are in as much demand today as they ever have been.
Since the two last performed at Diasha both have been very busy releasing new material and traversing the planet performing. Charles Webster released the hugely successful ‘Balearic Soul and Eclectic Visions’ compilation on Defected Records and more recently the latest in the ‘Coast2Coast’ compilation on NRK Records, which has seen Charles join the esteemed company of Quentin Harris, Ron Trent, Ame, Karizma and Kerri Chandler in releasing in the series. Charles has also turned out excellent DJ performances at The Amsterdam Dance Event, Pacha Ibiza, Cielo NYC, Fabric, Southport Weekender, Disco 3000 - Trusme’s new night - and toured North America, Japan and Australia.
The schedule of Martin ‘Atjazz’ Iveson is equally impressive with recent remixes for DJ Yellow, Mike Dunn, Domu and Pete Simpson, Wagon Cookin’, Mr Beatnick, and Tone Control, and not forgetting classic remixes of Blaze and Santos -Yoruba. Martin’s latest album Full Circle on Mantis Records is still receiving plaudits and is strongly supported by the best - Laurent Garnier, Jazzanova, Osunlade, the Attais brothers, Louie Vega and Boddhi Satva, to name a few! Martin has also recently appeared as a guest on Gilles Peterson’s ‘Worldwide’ Radio 1 show and enjoyed DJ gigs at Development Manchester, Format Brixton, Big Chill Café London, Garito Café Palma and Session Istanbul.
As ‘Version’ the duo have received critical acclaim. Labels to benefit from the Version treatment include Innervisions, Freerange, and Sonar Kollektiv, with notable remixes for hits such as Hot Lizard’s ‘The Theme’ and the huge ‘Go That Deep’ by Nu Frequency ft Shara Nelson. With vocalist Emilie Chick they have performed impressive sets at Club 11 Amsterdam and headlined the Bodytonic arena at Ireland’s equivalent of Glastonbury - Electric Picnic. The new Version single ‘The Brighter Side’, including a great Jimpster dub, has now just dropped on Miso Records.
Surely then a date not to be missed and a perfect start to the Christmas party season!!!
