‘Run by students for students’
A brand new student night arrives at The White House in Clapham on Wednesday 3rd December. Five students from different courses and London universities have been hand picked by David Minns, the new promotions manager at The White House. Each with their own skills and roles, they are 100% responsible for all parts of the night from the design, to the bands and the promotion. They even came up with the name Delirious after a field trip to one of London’s biggest student nights run by the Union DJ’s.
The event features a Live PA from Drew Darcy, one of the students brother and his band Studios in the mist. Fresh from playing live in Ibiza and at Birmingham’s Gatecrasher they have a huge sound with rocking guitars, indie vocals from Drew and a pumping electro bassline.
Joining them on the ground floor, Read The Crowd’s David Minns, From Seamless Recordings and former student of Westminister University ‘System 2’ and from countless gigs around the capital and head honcho’s from Fabric’s student night the ‘UNIONdjs’.
Upstairs on the 1st floor is a more underground sound with host Janno of Sonic Expression. Janno is one of the five students and studies at LCC in south London. He has promoted his own brand in Hong Kong and DJ’d alongside Tiesto. Sonic Expression boasts sets from some of the greats in breaks and DnB today. Inch, one part of Ctrl-Z has been on the scene writing ground breaking breaks for some time, he’s an international name and a regular at Glastonbury and on BBC Radio 1.
The drum and bass DJ Macpherson was discovered during the trip on Fabric’s student night. Already a resident for Fabric Live on Friday’s he’s playing the last set of the night to whip the students from a frenzy to a delirious state. DJ Priors, a student at Guildford’s Academy of Contempory Music is the drum and bass link to the delirious team.
