(Function / Metalheadz / Timeless / 31 Records)
Digital needs no introduction.
Established in ’95 with his first jungle release on Timeless, he is one of the most involving producers on the scene, known exclusively for his oldskool beatz and dubby B-lines.
With a slew of deadly releases to date on many of drum & bass’s most influential labels including Metalheadz, Reinforced, 31 Records, as well as running his own heavyweight imprint Function Records since 1999, Digital’s been destroying the dance since way back when & displaying continually why he is one of dnb's most consistent & longstanding artists.
(Ingredients / Function / Commercial Suicide / V Records)
We’re still mourning the loss of our favourite Manchester night from day - Audiosalad. One of the original residents, Response has been making serious moves on the circuit since his first 12” on Ingredients in 2013, releasing his meticulous production on Function, Commercial Suicide and V Records amongst others. With collaborations alongside originators Digital, Spirit, Klute & huge support for his increasing catalogue of heavy solo material, it’s clear to see that Response’s 170 assault is really only just getting started.
(Foundation X / Metalheadz / Renegade Hardware / Bassbin)
Foundation X end-boss Skitty’s been a leading force in the West Midlands drum & bass scene since the mid 90’s. Notably dub influenced, but perhaps best loved for his dark off-key dnb & rawkus jungle, he’s produced & been a regular player for Renegade Hardware for years, and released fatal cuts on many of our favourites such as Metalheadz, Bassbin, Cylon and Architecture…. to name a few.
◊ NOLIGE (Manchester debut)
(Foundation X / Scientific Wax / Bassbin / Architecture)
Nolige aka SB81’s intro to the UK sound of hardcore/jungle/drum&bass was in the early days & thankfully he never looked back. In 2005 he had his first release via highly respected label Bassbin Records and followed suit with a number of signings to Renegade Hardware, Architecture and Scientific Wax. In the last couple of years he has been working exclusively with Metalheadz under his SB81 alias, and continuing to release his distinctive moody & original oldskool style as Nolige on Skitty’s Foundation X label.
◊ DOUBLE 0
(Rupture LDN / Ako Beatz / Eastern Promise / 117)
London co-promoters Double 0 & Mantra have been running their illustrious night Rupture on the regs for years, and with the label up & running since 2012 they’ve been a key driving force on the esoteric deeper jungle scene for over a decade now.
Releasing music since ‘92 hardcore jungle days to date, Double 0’s amassed some incredibly heavy and perceptive tracks, releasing heat on the likes of 117, DSCI4, Eastern Promise, Ako Beatz and of course, Rupture LDN.
◊ MANTRA (Manchester debut)
(Rupture LDN / Ako Beatz / Repertoire)
Representing real drum and bass at it’s finest, Mantra’s made huge impact on the scene with her cross-spectrum mixture of deep, emotive drum and bass balanced flawlessly with darker, harder beats. Hitting up countless events UK & worldwide with her selections, not to mention the amazing production she’s been putting out with releases due on Ako Beatz, Repertoire & more, Mantra continues to push forward thinking jungle and drum & bass promoting Rupture alongside Double 0…… their debut Manchester b2b set is well & truly overdue!
(Foundation-X / Repertoire)
Dropping sets at illegal raves and club nights since the age of 17, Manchester-based Djinn’s been a regular on the underground scene over 10 years, playing her deadly precision of brooding dnb, rolling conscious beats & hard menacing amenism across UK / Europe & reaching as far afield as the UAE. With recent signings to Foundation X & Repertoire and a growing collection of solo tracks, Djinn’s moody oldskool-influenced production continues to gain support with an increasing momentum.
◊ EARL GREY
(Subtle Audio / Amen-talist)
Early Grey’s discovery of drum & bass started through the likes of Planet Mu, Sci Wax and Bassbin. Drawing from a wide selection of genres and influences & with a style reminiscent of a 90s jungle crate digging ethic, his DJ sets make slick use of live edits, tweaks and chops to make for an original & sometimes unpredictable, but always exciting mix. With releases on the mighty Subtle Audio & Amen-talist, he’s been carving out an eclectic sound from choppage & drumfunk and 2015 has certainly proven a great year for him, seeing signings to Inperspective, Eastern Promise & Pinecone Moonshine.
◊ LONGMAN MC
(Metropolis / Northbase)
MC’ing at so many of Manchester’s most legendary drum & bass events, Longman’s been on the scene for as long as we can remember. A Metropolis staple since day dot, he’s also blessed stages at Audiosalad, Ape, WHP, Fabric, Hideout Festival, Boomtown . . . . to name a small few!!
These days he’s travelling worldwide as head frontman for MCR export Northbase …..
We’re extremely hyped to have him hosting Formless in November!
