Triptic & under_score join forces to present a special live set from Donnacha Costello. Operating from the unlikely location of Skerries, asmall fishing town outside Dublin, he has established himself as one of Ireland's most beloved and successful techno exports.
After coming to prominence with releases through techno mega conglomerate Force Inc / Mille Plateaux, Donnacha blazed a trailthrough the electronic music landscape with his astounding "ColorSeries". These 10 thematically linked records brought raw emotion back to the techno dancefloor, combining the motorised soul of the first Detroit and Chicago tracks with the rugged bass frequencies of Sheffield bleep techno. The analogue aesthetic that he revisited withthe Colour Series was to become the recognisable signature ofCostello's label Minimise.
Costello has since jumped back into the future with his compelling minimal-not-minimal sound; releases such as "Bear Bounces Back" and"OK That's Great, Start Over" have been championed by the usualsuspects including Ricardo Villalobos, Ellen Allien and Richie Hawtin. His latest 12", "It Simply Is", is propelled by a synthline that would warm the heart of anyone with a (techno) soul. His music has become a regular reference point for djs seeking to blend contemporary intoclassic techno, and it regularly propels parties in the world's techno capitals to daybreak and beyond.
In support we have a selection of Bristol's finest techno djs; LMB,Jim Petherwick, and Placid spinning the hottest electronic soundsaround.

The Colors sound is pure hypnosis, the sound of real trance. Donnacha last year revamped his set-up, bought a computer, and started making music as infectious and clever as his previous music was deep. His massive hit "That's Great, Start Over" was played out by Luciano and Richie Hawtin in their almost every one of their sets last year, and was one of the biggest minimal tracks of the year.
