Well well well, what have we got here? A magic loan to stick a finger up to the credit crunch? A butler to look after our Christmas shopping? A skiing holiday in the trendiest European resort?...
No. No. Noooo.
Just the will to have the best night in December surrounded by all the people that make !Knuf a pleasurable family affair; the best house music around town supplied by our very special record selectors and a warm, intimate venue that has regulars running pole dancing competitions whilst staring blindly at the unique selection of art that happens to grace the walls…. It’s KNUF time dears…!
Sundrenched by the mild climate of his hometown of Izmir and blessed by the Turkish Aegean coast comes our guest selector and great friend Jonny Rock (Freaks / Disco 45). Jonny’s personal imprint of neverending good vibes have been a staple of quality in whichever duty he’s got round to; from working both at Phonica Records and BM Soho - arguably, the most influential record shops in London – promoting and playing at his legendary Sunday parties at T Bar (Dig Your Own Rave) and releasing on imprints such as Disco 45 and Classic – home to artists such as Derrick Carter and Matthew Herbert - to playing the guitar on dance act Freaks alongside Luke Solomon. He’s got talent, knowledge and tones of charm… we can’t wait to have him jonnyrockin’ the party.
This third episode of knuffing adventures also sees the return by public demand of our record shop girl Anthea (Phonica / Mojuba) a charismatic and powerful versatile DJ that has charmed the refined ears of key players Locodice, David Duriez and Mr C amongst others with her latest release in the exquisite house label Mojuba. Having played in venues like Panoramabar in Berlin and T Bar in London whilst working behind the counter at Soho’s premier record shop Phonica, Anthea knows her records well and masters the trade like no other. We are delighted to have her back.
Of course, no !KNUF would be possible without the dedication, passion and hard work of its crew of resident spinners Maura (entropy), Jordi Mas (sounderground) and Alejandro Asencio (Luckycloud Soundsystem). A triumphant trio of music lovers and stunning beauties – in case you didn’t notice. :o)
Forget about big pricey ‘last ever parties’ at any of the soon gone clubs and beat the crunch with our symbolic fees and body rocking beats.
Remember: !KNUF is not just for Christmas, it’s a way of living.
