Opening Party - December 2nd - The Deaf Institute -
We're kicking things off with a showcase of heavyweight jump-up business courtesy of the man that coined the word 'dubstep', Hatcha and an exclusive set from Rinse FM’s Chef.
HATCHA (Kiss FM)
DJ CHEF (Rinse FM)
Metric B2B Rossio (React FM)
Hosted by Chunky
Often described as Croydon's answer to Moodyman, DJ Hatcha has over 15 years of DJ experience under his belt at the age of just 27. As A&R man and shop hand at the legendary Big Apple Records in South London, he was responsible for Benga, Skream, Digital Mystikz and Loefah's first record deals, and was first choice by Tempa Recordings to curate and mix the first in the series of Dubstep Allstars mix C.Ds. Expect the freshest dubs available and some of the most on-point mixing the scene has to offer...
Already a key player in the dubstep scene, 2008 has been a huge year for croydon’s DJ Chef. Holding down residencies at DMZ, FWD and as far a field as Helsinki for Tes La Rok’s Slam It! and still finding the time to head Ringo Records. Renowned for upfront and diverse sets, Hatcha’s first choice for Mary Anne Hobbs’ ‘Generation Bass 2008 Show’ is sure to rip things up at the Deaf Institute.
