Tonrec Events feat Olive Klein

  • If you.re listening to house, if you.re into techno, if you.re a discodancer, a club promoter, a whiz kid or just interested in the fabulousworld of electronic music, you surely at any point of your personal techno-experience so far had to notice the likes of a DJ that is known for hismusical taste and his skills on the decks as well: Mr. Oliver Klein! The charismatic jock, producer and techno-connoisseur from Dortmund knowshow to ban a crowd and let that magic happen, that is folded in the shellsof electronic music. His bandwidth of musically preferences and his open horizon to differentstyles both are clear induction parameters for his success in the DJ- andProducer business. When you.re listening to a piece of Klein-branded music, you can always feel what has been his first introduction to music... truefunk, soul and rare grooves! Well, until some friends introduced him to therough, direct and quick developing universe of techno in form of an llegalwarehouse rave, which took place in 1989. The rest is history, but the manitself always keeps looking at what.s about to come... Oliver fell in love with this new and exciting kind of music, thecommunity-feeling of the crowd he was standing in and the energy thattechno was able to release in such a direct and unfiltered way. Of coursehis weakness for the heroes of funk and soul is still a big part of him, but this guy knows how to handle the connection between classical musiceducation and the modern, slightly and sometimes raw edges of electronicmusic, either in his sets, his productions or for sure in his state ofmind! No wonder he quickly became a resident at the "Orpheum", the leadingvenue in his hometown shortly after his first steps behind the decks, wherehe turned days into nights very week and prepared the hungry crowd forinternational headliners, until he was asked back in .94 to play as aregular guest at a new-opened and groundbreaking afterhour-venue inDusseldorf, called "Poison Club", you know what we.re talkin. about... Fromthere on, his way was signed into the ground and in no time he developed toone of the leaders of the electronic music scene in Germany. Back then, for Oliver and his long-time friend and from-scratch-producingpartner Jurgen Driessen it was only a matter of time until they took theirdigital delights into the studio. The first release called "Virus" appearedon the label “Mutekki" in 1999, which was founded by the guys themselves toexpress their very own position in the techno circus and support otherartists to do the same as well. The record caught not only nationalattention, suddenly all eyes were blinking in direction of that littlestudio in the area of Dusseldorf. Not that the guys were scared by thesudden fire they started, they just locked themselves behind the desks andreleased their first massive succeeding record named "Rheinkraft" in 2000. The follow-up-release to "Rheinkraft" (which was awesome remixed under "Re-Kraft" by the likes of Gui Boratto and Pig&Dan this year) called "Timeloop" was also voted under the 15 most important tracks back in 2002 by Ministryof Sound. Since then, Oliver has spent a massive part of his time travelling aroundthe globe at the request of world's most famous clubs, like London’s famous“The Gallery” (where he was resident for 4 years), “Cream”, “Passion”, “TheCross” or the world-renowned "Tribehouse" where he.s shaking the massesfrom ground to ceiling. He teamed up with Martin Eyerer, Ramon Zenker(Hardfloor) and Peter Jurgens, just to name a few, to produce some stunningpieces of techno art through the last years and delivered great newinterpretations of tracks from Pascal F.E.O.S., Sebastian Leger or "BorderCommunity"-mastermind James Holden. But not if all the work is enough for Mr. Klein, no, not at all... In 2006he became a major part of a new and ambitioned club project: “Home14”. Withits high-grade bookings, its overwhelming sound system and a sophisticatedNight&Day-concept, the “Home14” club determined the party life ofDusseldorf for nearly two years and besides DJ celebrities such as SvenVath, Luciano, Moodyman, Tobi Neumann, Funk D’Void, Matthias Tanzmann orAnja Schneider most notably called clubbers from all over Germany andsurroundings into the metropolis. At the moment Oliver is riding the electric avenue as fast as ever, playinggigs all over the globe and making regular stops in South America. Besidesa new own event series called “Planlos” at the “Versteck” club in Dortmund, 2008 serves the next milestone in his constantly developing career: Afteryears of impressive guest appearances at the en-vogue “Tribehouse” club inNeuss, he is officially called up into its resident squad. On theproduction side of things he can not only look back on two releases and amix compilation, which he released in collaboration with his brother incrime Martin Eyerer, but does also look forward to two further releasesentitled “Babylon” and “Kornerfresser” on the labels Kling Klong andConfused Recordings. Characterized and recognized by his inimitable pounding grooves, Olivercontinues enjoying success and respect as well, not only from the crowdsbut also from colleagues and dream sharers all over the world.
