Hudson Mohawke aka Hud Mo, hails from Glasgow, Scotland. Alongside Flying Lotus, Rustie, Joker, and others, he is a fresh-faced producer who is helping to define a new era for electronic hip hop music. His releases (Ubiquity, Rush Hour and Werk), and killer performances (he was the UK DMC and ITF Champion when he was still only a teenager!) have caused a major buzz around the world. The infamous Ooops! 12”, fuses Hudson’s raw drum programming and future-proof synths with the glitz of mainstream rnb—so hot it sold out within a week of hitting shelves. Recently Hudson signed to the world-renowned Warp Records and his first full-length album drops in 2009.
This groundbreaking music was not caused by a preconceived plan to change the game—quite the opposite! Hud Mo was a young bedroom producer in a town known for every type of music except hip hop. He had no idea that his indulgence in hardcore, techno, prog, fusion and electro would capture so much attention. Working with Mike Slott as Heralds of Change, he helped create a new experimental approach to production that you no doubt hear across all of Myspace. Hudson’s rise has been an organic process fueled by word of mouth, with fans discovering the music online or seeing him play.
