For the last zero” night of the year at Berlin’s Killekill Club we crank up the heat with some extraordinary music coming from Dorian Concept, Shir Kan, Daniel Haaksman, Leroy Hanghofer, DJ Glow and Tibcurl.
Viennese shooting-star and keyboard wizard Dorian Concept will be performing his amazing live act for the first time in Berlin: incorporating stumbling dope beats to tricky new rave, Concept’s style is as diverse as it is unique and has been raising attention with recent releases on Domu’s TrebleO label, production for Kissey Asplund on R2, and his latest 12”, ‘Maximized Minimalization’ on Affin. Signed to Amsterdam’s esteemed Kindred Spirits label, Dorian Concept’s debut album ‘When Planets Explode’ is scheduled to appear this winter.
Berlin’s Shir Khan is a seasoned veteran in comparison, and the uncrowned king of the city’s burgeoning booty bass scene. His bootleg are the stuff of legend and his freshly founded The Exploited label has quickly established itself as Berlin’s premier outlet for bass-ladden rave breaks with releases by Mark Stewart & Adam Sky, Siriusmo, Rqm or Malente & Dex.
Barely an introduction is needed for Brazil’s unofficial ambassador in the German capital: Daniel Haaksman has to be credited for popularising Rio’s Baile Funk sound across Europe, through his DJ sets and his excellent label Man Recordings, where Carioca Funk collides with northern hemisphere productions by the likes of Diplo, Jesse Rose and Stereotyp. We ain’t afraid of Rio…
Coming from down south as well, if not from that far, are the sounds of Leroy Hanghofer - well known as part of Munich’s disco-electro-punk outfit Munk and the man behind the brilliant Gomma label, who will be dropping by for one of his famed DJ sets.
And last but not least, two of the people behind zero” will also be on the decks this Wednesday night: DJ Glow of Vienna’s electro label TRUST and Icke Micke’s Tibcurl.
