2008 has been all about tunes for Oliver, with tracks out on labels like Toolroom, Azuli and Whoop. "I could see that I needed to be producing more and have my own label," says Oliver, who spent the first four months of 2008 burrowed away in a studio. In terms of his own material, The Siren is out soon on Whoop, Oliver's remix of Café Del Mar is getting smashed everywhere by another northern son, Sasha (check the video at www.youtube.com/watch?v=r509dwRdHCU) and Oliver’s terrace bombshell - Bomb The Terrace – made it onto the celebrated Space album.
In terms of gigs, Oliver has confirmed two major residencies – monthly at Manchester venue Area 51, and a UK and international resident for In Bed With Space. Aside from other UK gigs, Oliver has bookings coming up in Gibraltar, Poland and also a full tour of Australia over Xmas and NYE, with the Stafford Brothers, promoting their collaboration “I’m Feeling”, out on MOS Australia and also featuring on the Australian hed kandi album.
Perhaps the joint influence of high profile gigs and major label releases is what propelled Oliver into the arms of the Integrity agency, who now handle all his bookings (www.integrityam.com). Oliver is delighted to have signed with the agency and is looking forward to stepping up his career as we move into 2009.
