Hear with Shaun Reeves, Sonns & Clovis

  • Harmonic will be kicking-off Memorial Weekend with a collaboration worth a double take. SHAUN REEVES (Visionquest, Circoloco, No. 19, Crosstown Rebels, Wolf + Lamb, Raum, Simple, etc. etc!) will be performing a 4+ hour extended set at the HEAR + ANIMAL CLUB jamboree on Friday, May 22, alongside SONNS (Kompakt, Machine Ltd, Throne of Blood). Shaun is an enigmatic pioneer who’s trailblazing quest to export his unique brand of cosmic underground house and techno from his hometown of Detroit to Europe (and beyond) has brought him international acclaim. Alongside best friends Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss and Seth Troxler he has helped put a warm, esoteric spin on the city’s musical heritage taking it away from clinical minimalism, back towards warmer, more spiritual party music. Together they have formed Visionquest, a genre-busting four-piece DJ combo, live act, record label and forward-thinking school of thought. The last few years have seen Shaun blossom in the studio, both on his own for New York’s Wolf+Lamb, as ‘The Royal We’ with Seth Troxler for Crosstown Rebels, alongside Guti and Miss Fitz for Wolf+Lamb and Raum...musik and most recently as Visionquest remixing Tracey Thorn (for Strange Feeling), doP & Seuil (for Eklo) and Paul Ritch & D’Julz (for Quartz Music) and alongside Tale Of Us remixing Terry’s ‘Time Doesn’t Count’ on Lowpitch. Alexandre Mouracade’s roots in the Los Angeles music scene span the better part of two decades, not only as a DJ but as founder of the globally hyped party, MAKING SHAPES and more recently as a charting producer under the monikers, SONNS & SPLIT SECS. As a record selector, he's shared space with talent reaching as far back as his days holding a residency with his eclectic opening & closing sets for the World Famous Beat Junkies and more recently traversing the techno, house, disco and left-field landscapes with Mark E, Simian Mobile Disco, Ivan Smagghe and Eddie C. After an acclaimed release on his Machine Limited label and remixes on the likes of Kompakt and Throne of Blood, it can be discerned that SONNS is not only staking claim for himself as one to watch but giving Los Angeles the attention it deserves as a bastion for dance music. With HEAR & ANIMAL CLUB stirring the cauldron on this event, you know to expect an innovative experience with the warmest of vibes. The TrueChord system always delivers the beefiest sound, yet at a clarity level that you can talk comfortably over. [email protected] for more details. You’re in for a treat this weekend.
