Hed Kandi DJ: Jim Breese
Special Live Guest Appearance: Peyton (Live Vocalist)
Support DJs: Arun R & TAI Pan Dan
Hed Kandi returns this winter to Hong Kong, the new home in Asia for the luxury dance label.
To make this winter’s event even more special, we bring back the first and most memorable DJ to grace the Hong Kong audience, Jim Breese and singing his hit songs, Peyton!
Currently rated as one of the most up and coming musically diverse faces in the scene, Jim Breese has done more than achieve a lot at a young age already. His reputation has grown purely through his performance skills, attaining residencies at the magical ‘Ku De Ta’ in Bali, playing for Ibiza’s largest open-air festival, MTV Aquasonic, and being a legend in the making at the world famous Café Mambo. Labels, clubs, producers and promoters all look up to the natural talent Breese has to offer his audience: this year alone, he headlined to 10,000 clubbers in Russia, performed at the infamous Kiwi Club’s ‘White Party Closing’ as well as Hed Kandi’s glamorous closing weekend on the island, Ibiza. More outstandingly, his set at Hong Kong’s first Hed Kandi is talked about till today!
Already established in the music industry as a vocal force to be reckoned with, Peyton has been highly sought after around the world, by clubs, promoters, DJs and producers alike. His acclaim to stardom is shown by his portfolio of diversity; he has made appearances on shows like Queer Eye for the Straight Guy as well as being a host of his own radio show on Passion FM. His musical career has been heavily supported by the likes of Eric Kupper, who produced ‘A Higher Place’ which hit no.2 in the UK Upfront Club Top 40.

Jim Breese Biography
Jim Breese is one of the most exciting DJ talents emerging from the UK club scene. He is currently headlining the worlds greatest clubs as resident DJ for the iconic Hed Kandi brand, where he is well versed in main room, rocking House sets. His recent Hed Kandi CD release: ‘World Series Live: San Francisco’ saw Jim travel to what is widely accepted to be the coolest of the US cities, in order to record an 80-minute ‘DJ Mix’ from the Supperclub DJ Booth- a further validation of his peak time club sound.
Though beyond the dance floor, there is a love of edgier, alternative genres including Balearic Chillout, Cosmic Disco and Deep House- influenced by his high profile, international residencies across the globe. From three-years at the legendary Cafe Mambo in Ibiza- perfecting the art of the sunset, to the hedonistic parties at Ku De Ta in the Indonesian paradise of Bali. Such variety necessitates a diverse music policy, so it’s no wonder that Hed Kandi enlist his help in co-compiling several of their renowned and eclectic compilations- Serve Chilled, Nu Cool, Kandi Lounge and Beach House. This wide-ranging style is also present in a monthly ‘Nu Cool Guest Mix’ for the Galaxy Radio Network, as well as his weekly show- broadcast on Ministry of Sound Radio, every Sunday 16:00 - 18:00. (GMT)
2008 has seen appearances far and wide, including the infamous ‘White Party Closing’ at Kiwi Bar in Brazil, World Series in San Francisco, Ku De Ta’s intergalactic themed ‘Space Invaders Party’ in Bali, headlining to 10,000 Russian clubbers at the Astrakhan Birthday celebrations, Hed Kandi’s glamorous closing weekend in Ibiza, regular appearances at Superclubs across Europe including: Holland, Germany, Italy, Spain, France and the Greek Islands, plus of course so many in the UK. A challenge he revels in and puts to good use at his myriad weekly residencies such as Match Bar in London.
In 2001, Jim became resident DJ at Café Mambo in Ibiza, acknowledged as the most important and influential clubbing-bar on earth. He would spin for eight hours each and every day, May until October, playing daytime sets, night time sets, and of course enjoying the endless Sunset quest, that Holy Grail of Ibiza DJing.
Mambo and the adjacent Café Del Mar are the focal point for the thousands who gather on Ibiza's 'Sunset Strip' each evening, determined to enjoy the communal spectacle as sun descends into the Mediterranean Sea. It's a magical, emotional moment, one that for three long summers was further enhanced by Jim's seamlessly chilled and dramatic musical soundtracks.
After sunset the club freaks emerge, joined at Mambo by virtually every international DJ of note - Jim played host each night to legends such as Sanchez, Axwell, Morillo, and Tong- all of whom played weekly, then there were the countless guests! Naturally Jim learnt so much from sharing his booth.
In 2003 he played at MTV Aquasonic, Ibiza's largest open-air festival, plus debuted on BBC Radio 1 with a live 'Sunset Guest Mix' on Pete Tong's Essential Selection - the most popular and acclaimed dance music show on British radio.
The winter saw Jim busy with the Cafe Mambo World Tour, exporting his trademark sound extensively across South East Asia and Australia. One set in the Indonesian paradise of Bali led to Jim being offered the 2004 summer DJ residency at the magical Ku De Ta beach club, as well as hosting his own Hero night at the Double Six super-club.
2005 saw Jim Breese further in demand across the globe, traveling to some of the best international club destinations - Ibiza, Moscow, Copenhagen, Bali... and the UK of course. And to top off another successful year, he was handpicked to play for the hugely popular and world-acclaimed Hed Kandi brand, part of the Ministry of Sound empire.
Jim Breese has always been a DJ talent to watch, so now that he's fully 'arrived' look out for him at a dark, pulsing room near you soon!
Like many American soul singers, Peyton got his musical start in the church. Raised in the south of the US, Peyton was brought up in a family of Pentecostal preachers and was working as the minister of music for his father’s church by the time he was seventeen. After moving to the UK to study, Peyton went on to live in Colombia, South America and New York City, before finally settling in London. In 2003 Peyton signed his first single to the Hed Kandi label, A Higher Place. Legendary House music producer Eric Kupper (Degrees of Motion) produced the first official mix which shot to no. 2 in the UK Upfront Club Top 40. Higher Place went on to top dance charts around the world and has become a staple of DJdom. It was also no. 11 in the UK Upfront Club Top 100 songs of 2004. More recently, the track has enjoyed more chart success with the 2008 remix package, including remixes by 7th Heaven, Bassmonkeys, Nik Denton and others. In 2004/5 Peyton began working on his debut album with Eric Kupper. After spending the year travelling around the world, singing to tens of thousands, Peyton was invited to be one of the five presenters on the UK version of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, commissioned by LIVING TV. Peyton was the Food and Drink adviser for all 20 episodes of the reality TV show, which saw considerable success in the UK and was syndicated to networks around the world, including the US. In 2005 the album was finished, and Hed Kandi released new Peyton vinyl with Celebrate, Keep the Faith, Find My Way and Higher Place. The release went to no. 2 in the UK Upfront Club Top 40. Also that year, the ATFC and Mauve remixes of Higher Place, as well as the Kaskade and Kupper mixes of I'll Rise were released on vinyl, and went straight back to no. 2. Peyton was also the only male nominated for Outstanding Vocalist of the Year at London's 2005 House Music Awards.
In addition to hosting a weekly radio show on London's PASSION 91.8 FM, Peyton has spent a great deal of time traversing the globe, giving his spine-tingling performances to fans all the way from San Francisco to Shanghai, from Cairo to Sydney. In the last three years Peyton has performed in over 150 cities, in over forty countries, across six continents. In 2007, Peyton collaborated with Audio Fraud to cover the classic 80's tune Ride Like The Wind. The track was snapped up by All Around The World, and hit 1 in the UK Commercial Pop Top 30. Till You Come Back (Noferini feat. Peyton) was another big chart success for Peyton, with mixes by Jerry Ropero, Hernandez vs. DJ Tyo, and many more. Other notable 2007 releases include New Day (ATFC presents Peyton), Peyton’s collaboration with the Hoxton Whores, I Just Wanna Be Lonely, and Music In Me (AudioFraud vs Peyton). He’s also worked with the Soul Avengerz, making some of the chunkiest funkiest gospel House tunes on the market, including Never Give Up, signed to Peppermint Jam, and Give Thanks, recently released on Soda Records. In 2007 Peyton also wrote and recorded One Night in Beijing, the first single for China's very own superstar DJ/Producer, Chozie, as part of his album Walking Backwards. The video was shot on location in Beijing, and was directed by one of China's hottest music video directors.
More recently Peyton has teamed up with Egypt’s beloved DJ Samba to write an original track called The Streets of Cairo, already getting massive radio play in Egypt and scheduled for release later this year. Peyton has continued working closely with Eric Kupper, writing and recording original tracks, many of which can be found on Fierce Angels compilations, amongst others. Other new releases to watch out for are In Love With My Life, Peyton vs. Arkoss on Funkinyou Records, and Joy Comes In The Morning, Peyton vs. Pete Doyle, on Ministry of Sound (Housexy).
Peyton will soon be releasing a 3-CD collection of his music, which will include classic tracks as well as brand new material. While his music continues to spread, his huge gospel-inspired House anthems are becoming recognized as 'club classics' and Peyton's worldwide reputation as a performer and writer has secured him the title of one of House music's most soulful superstars.
