Friday 6th Feb sees our 9th instalment of Torque in Pacinos cellar, where we’ll be having Conor Dunne, Philip Galvin Jnr and returning guest Con Allen down to rock the cellar and bringing the early Spring heat. No better way to get back into the groove after what will have been a quiet January for many.
For anyone that didn't make it down on the 2nd of Jan, we had quite a session (despite town being dead), so no doubt this will another fantastic night of Torque basement vibes from three of the finest DJs Dublin has to offer. Expect the usual Torque house/techno/disco vibes and as always expect the unexpected too!
Here's the lowdown on our guest DJs for the night:
Conor Dunne (Bodytonic)
Conor started playing out in 2007. Not long after he began his residency for 12 Sundays in the Bernard Shaw, the all-day party which leaned toward a varied selection of music styles. Over the years he's supported some of his heroes such as Carl Craig, Intergalactic Gary, Optimo DJs, Rahann and John Daly to name but a few. Conor has also featured at Life Festival, Stop Making Sense (Croatia) as well as off Sonar parties in Barcelona. Serving up a wide variety of house, techno, funk and disco in no particular order.
Con Allen (Breakfast Club)
Con Allen is the co-founder (along with Cian Coburn) and resident of The Breakfast Club early morning/day party in The Dark House Inn, with parties happening at least once a month throughout the year and serving up a tasty early morning blend of house, techno and disco in all of it's guises right through until lunchtime. The Breakfast Club is quite simply the finest party of it's kind in Dublin and has been going strong for nearly 4 years now - showcasing the finest local house and techno DJ talent as well as international guests of the calibre of Tamo Sumo, Marcellus Pittman, Patrice Scott, Margaret Dygas and John Heckle. We reckon that a few more years like that and its growing legendary status will all be but sealed. Last time Con came down to play for Torque it was with his regular partner in crime Cian and the duo had the place absolutely hopping.
Philip Galvin Jnr (Realsound)
Comfortable with deeper stripped back sounds as much as his more regular upfront style, Philip Galvin Jnr is well known around this fair city in these circles. Having played almost every club night around in the past 2 years and had had appearances at the very popular Life Festival and Electric Picnic, he is now a current resident for Realsound hosting a monthly house & techno radio show alongside other residents. As well as being tidy on the decks Philip is also an up and coming young producer - posting regular live techno jams on his Soundcloud page (see link below) as well as his promo mixes.
See you all on the 6th
