  • YAM WHO? remixer of JOSS STONE, JOHN LEGEND, INCOGNITO and many more soul and dance acts spins a selection of party house, disco, boogie, soul, funk, latin and afro tunes alongside STEVE LAVIERS, writer and producer of 'Jobu' and 'Le Groove de Prune'. These were recorded under the pseudonym MOTIVATORS and featured the MANU DIBANGO rhythm section plus member of REEL PEOPLE. Here And Now Recordings label boss completes the lineup. YAM WHO?, alongside the likes of DJ Spinna, Osunlade, Jon Cutler, Greyboy, Kirk Degiorgio presents As One, Jazzanova, Roy Davis Jr, Platinum Pied Pipers and Sa Ra Creative Partners, have recorded for such notable labels as Ubiquity and Papa Records. Yam Who? have also remixed for Joss Stone, John Legend, Incognito and many more soul, jazz and dance acts and now they have reworked Funkanala and Chanan Hanspal for Here And Now Recordings. These 2 releases featuring Yam Who? reworks will be dropping this autumn on Here And Now Recordings. The Chanan Hanspal track "It's Only Just A Garden" features Imaani from Incognito on vocals. And what a vocal it is! Yam Who? previously recorded a lovely cover version of the China Burton disco classic "You Don't Care About Our Love" for Here And Now Recordings MOTIVATORS are a collective of session players including the Manu Dibango rhythm section plus Hannah Kemoh on vocals from Reel People, plus Scott Baylis and Max Grunhard from Impossible Ark Records, Reel People and the Quantic Soul Orchestra. These fine players were assembled, recorded and produced by Steve Laviers from Funk4Food. The very talented Steve also wrote all the music! Over the last few years Steve has been organizing, promoting and djing at the Funk4Food parties where he would donate his profits to charity. Guesting at the se parties were The Idjut Boys, Simon Lee from Faze Action, Citizen Kane, Martin Brew from Fat City Records, Qool DJ Marv and JC from Here And Now Recordings. JC set up Here And Now Recordings in 2005. He licensed the first release "Economy Class" by Funkanala to Defected Records. In 2006 he released the Boston Rodriguez, Bugz In The Attic style, Afro Boogie remix of "Babakar" also by Funkanala. Then he released tracks by Yam Who?, Motivators, DJD and Chaz Jankel. He has dj'd all over London for over 12 years and travelled to Paris, Prague, Thailand and Australia for gigs to. He ha sun alongside Norman Jay, Faze Action, Dom Servini from Wah Wah 45s, Jeremy Newall, Voices Collective, Hugo Mendez from Sofrito, Impossible Ark Records, Jazzman Records and Soundway Records.
