The end of an era... A few words from the Freeze guys...
So........a hard one to write this, its gonna be difficult to say goodbye to The Lemon Lounge and all that goes with it......some fantastic nights in there over the last 3 years, some unforgettable sets, some ingrained in the memory funny times and, most importantly of all, some ingrained in the heart friendships. For me personally, and for Rob and Andy too, some of those friendships forged on the sweaty tiny dancefloor in there are some of those friendships that i value the most.
We intend to go out with a massive, fook off celebration of all that Freeze is about and we certainly have a line up to do that.
The MYNC Project return to Liverpool for the first time since Cream on Boxing Day 2004. Fresh out of the studio with a tonne of new tracks ready to unleash....they are difficult to pigeon hole, they have their own unique brand of quality underground house, from dirty, partywise, jackin' tracks to electronic influenced house. Known for their standard 4 decks/2 mixer shows and innumerable effects units, they take DJing beyond simply playing other people's music into the realms of musical creation and live performance, twisting pre-recorded sounds into new and original dancing spells. They know this is a special party for Freeze and have promised a performance that reflects the occasion!
Steve Parry is, in lots of ways, the epitomy of what Freeze is about. A hugely talented DJ and all round nice guy, Steve was intrumental in getting Freeze off the ground and since then has been a massive supporter of what we have tried to achieve. Steve's seminal night Alderaan has been massively influential on our musical taste and was the bluprint for Freeze when we started the night. No one who was there will forget Steve's performance on NYE last year, a true gent and an amazing DJ - Thanks Steve!
Joining our two headliners for our big BBQ finale will be Tom Steer. Tom is going places and is establishing a reputation for himself across the city with sets for ourselves and his Sub Sound residency.
Bringing the night to a fitting (and teary) conclusion, will be Rob and Andy. The last set of regular Freeze's needs to be special and there is no-one better to bring things to a conclusion than our talented residents. 2 of the best DJ's in the city and a pleasure to work with over the last 3 years. With this being a special one, we have spoken with the venue and this one will be going on til very late!!!
So.......the curtain is about to be raised for the last time, the gong is about to sound...come down and join us for what will be a momentous night!!!! Thanks to each and every one of you that has come to Freeze over the last few years.....we are proud of the night and the special atmosphere that seems to be created and thats as a result of you lot. We love you all.
BBQ on the terrace at 6...finishing at god knows what time...be early, this one will be busy.
