The two-day event highlights collaborations between internationally-renowned artists, musicians, dancers and live film-makers. i=u will turn Brooklyn Fire Proof into a collaborative music-making environment between audience members and performers. On May 9th, we are proud to celebrate our partnership with Gabriel Prokofiev's London-based Nonclassical label, performing his works and curating the event with a new music twist.
The lineup features guest artists from Europe in rare US performances including UK-based folk/electro/beatboxer Cosmo Sheldrake, Dutch dancer Manou Koreman, and London-based Nonclassical DJ James Greer featuring local experimental musicians Fjolae and Cory Bracken. The eclectic mix of artists performing will include legendary composer David Amram, New York-based string quartet PUBLIQuartet, up-and-coming Young New Yorkers’ Chorus, avant-rock group El Tryptophan, classical pianist Bobby Mitchell, Brooklyn based DJ group Grumby, as well as the curators of i=u, violinist Eugene Feygelson and experimental guitarist Michael Dylan Ferrara.
“The energy around live events, their innovative and engaging improvised performances impressed me very much, pushing at the edges of contemporary musical practice.”

‘The treat was witnessing it all happen in a live unplanned, unrehearsed improvised context…an innovative ethos that was most stimulating…I solidly support i=u in their further endeavors and wish them success!’
