The Gang’s spiritual leader, Gary Ablett, was a dyed in the wool Liverpudlian - though his blatant disregard for loyalty by playing for both Everton and The ‘Pool is sure to have enraged the latter’s supporters who, when gathered together in one place, notoriously resemble a giant sized shoulder with a chip knocked out of it. So what is this month’s blurb’s tenuous link to it’s guest? Well, for once, it’s actually fitting as he’s also a thoroughbred Scouse…Mark Forshaw first rose to prominence in his locale by running the legendary T-Funkshen night back in the early noughties, bringing through such guests as Terence Parker and Surgeon amongst others. In more recent years he’s come to be known for his wild house and techno productions both as a solo producer and as one third of Techno super-group Phantom Planet Outlaws, alongside John Heckle and Binny. His work has featured on eminent imprints Tabernacle and Apartment with his next release lined up on the legendary Chicago label Mathematics. Not too shabby at all.On top of all that Mark is a serious, and we mean SERIOUS Dj. With a bottomless pit of knowledge for the roots of dance music coupled with a relentless hunger for seeking out the freshest sounds around, Mark combines it all with a dexterity behind the decks which is sure to impress the most picky of chinstroker while simultaneously ramping up the energy on the dancefloor. The gang are more than a little excited to bring him over for his Dublin debut.
On warm up is the Gang’s resident Mr Fancy Pants, Paudi Ahern. Y’all know at this stage just how good a dj he is, cutting and scratching his way through wave, techno, electro, hip hop and house. Sort of like The Wizard. But from Kerry.
