It is of course one of the biggest dates in our calendar and we are excited at the thought of sharing what will be another amazing day and night with you all. With it being customary on bank holidays and with the added excuse of it being our birthday, the party will stretch over 2 venues and across 16 hours. PART 1 - DAY TIME - STUDIO 338 For the daytime session it was an easy decision to use the amazing terrace at Studio 338. The venue has become widely used in the last year but we of course saw the potential in this spot 4 years ago. With the new killer Void sound system and little tweaks across the whole the venue it is hands down the best outside space in and around London. The tiered dance floor and different levels also really help create an intense atmosphere all adding to the appeal. DJ KOZE Headlining the day time we are happy to welcome DJ Koze. Koze is as a giant and true artist within our scene. His colourful take on house / techno is quirky, charming and quite simply outstanding. His LP ‘Amygadala’ released in 2013 was voted Best LP on Resident Advisor’s end of year polls. He has in recent years remixed the likes of Mathew Herbert and Efdemin. His DJ sets are equally as revered so we are psyched to hear him play a 3 hour set as the night draws in. Not only that its his first London show of 2014 so a very rare chance to see him in action. NICK HOPPNER In support we have secretsundaze favourite and regular Nick Hoppner. The Panorama bar resident and Ostgut Ton artist is one of the most consistent DJs we have heard. His sound takes in house, techno and other more UK influenced sounds. He is currently working in his LP for Ostgut Ton. YOUANDEWAN Our final guest for the daytime is Youandewan. With early releases on Aus, Hype Ltd and of course of our own secetsundaze imprint Ewan’s star is firmly in the ascendant. His sound is warm and soulful with a UK flavour and he is currently working on his debut LP for the mighty Aus. GILES SMITH AND JAMES PRIESTLEY Of course secretsundaze founders and residents Giles Smith and James Priestley will be on hand to sprinkle their very own form of musical magic on proceedings as they have been doing since the very first party. PART 2 - NIGHT TIME - VILLAGE UNDERGROUND Moving into the night time at 10pm we will be heading over to Village Underground in the heart of Shoreditch. secretsundaze were the first promoters to throw a party at Village Underground back in 2005. We are looking forward to getting down in what is one of the most beautiful buildings in East London. ANTHONY 'SHAKE' SHAKIR Headlining the night time we have Anthony ‘Shake’ Shakir all the way from Detroit. Shakir has a cut up, sampling style all of his own and he has worked with luminaries such as Carl Craig and Derrick May. He was quiet for many years until Rush Hour rereleased a package of his works on Frictionalism gaining him a bunch of new fans. He is just playing at Dimensions festival on this tour so its a rare chance to catch him. LAWRENCE Second up we welcome another regular to secretsundaze Lawrence. Lawrence is a bona fide DJs DJ. His sets taking in long forgotten classics, detroit techno and of course more subtle selections perhaps from one of his excellent labels Dial or Laid. UNDERGROUND PARIS Underground Paris making his London secretsundaze debut is one of the leaders of the 90’s revivalist sound and his My Love is Underground label is a runaway success. However he is far from a one trick pony with his taste extending to pretty much anything good. He was Floating Points first guest at Your'e A Melody at Plastic People which speaks volumes. BRADLEY ZERO Last up we have also added Boiler Room host and Rhythm section boss Bradley Zero on warm up duties. Bradley has just launched his label Rhythm section of the same name as the underground soiree’s he promotes down in Peckham and we are looking forward to see what the dreadlocked one has in store! So…the scene is set for another belting birthday. secretsudaze continue to put on the best parties in the capital lovingly curated from the heart. See you on the dance floor!
