Rework presents...Doubtingthomas [Live] and Robin Ordell

  • Rework are very excited to announce the details of our first event of 2014! The party will take place in the Plan B basement, a lovely intimate venue in Brixton fitted with a Funktion One Soundsystem. For our first night of the year we are very happy to welcome two of our favourite acts. DoubtingThomas will be treating us to his innovative live set and Eklo's Robin Ordell will be gracing the decks with his impeccable record collection. Rework residents Jackson Blumenthal, Loren Heer & Bryn Critchard will be providing support on the night. DoubtingThomas Through his use of field recordings, ambient soundscapes and driving, off-kilter beats DoubtingThomas has crafted a sound that is instantly recognisable as his own. With a string of consistent releases on notable labels such as Little Helpers and 31337 the Frenchman has cemented himself as one of our favourite artists. Aside from being a talented producer, Aurelien has mastered the art of the live set...each one unique, taking listeners on a hypnotic, surreal journey, full of unexpected gems. We caught up with Aurelien a few months back for an in depth interview: http://www.reworkmusic.co.uk/2013/11/doubtingthomas-interview-and-podcast.html Robin Ordell Robin Ordell’s music stems back from a childhood influenced by the masters of funk and soul intertwined with what is now a deep love affair with house music. With a back catalogue including the impressive ‘Monopolar’ EP on Seuil’s Eklo imprint alongside 2011’s acclaimed EP ‘The Show’, 2014 is set to see Robin go from strength to strength. In addition to his impressive productions, Robin is also responsible for East London’s legendary Sunday party Half Baked which he has taken all over Europe and has seen him play alongside Petre Inspirescu, Baby Ford, Bruno Pronsato and Seuil among others. https://soundcloud.com/robin-ordell/crazy-jack-podcast-jan-2013 We look forward to seeing you on the dancefloor… Rwk. x
