Following 2 years of hosting some of the biggest warehouse parties London has seen, Shogun Audio return to the capital this April for one mega showcase at Fire*. Riding high off the label’s success in 2013, and picking up speed for the monumental 10 years of Shogun festivities, the night will flaunt an extensive range of talent the label has harnessed.
For the next Shogun London, Friction & Co. have called on an elite group of artists that are at the forefront of the UK bass music movement. Drawing on Calyx & Teebee’s no-nonsense approach to filling dancefloors, and Radio 1 resident Rockwell’s outside of the box track selection to get things started. Adding to that Rinse FM’s bass music tastemaker Icicle, plus two of drum n bass’s favourite duos in the form of Spectrasoul and Technimatic to get those tickets flying out the door. Also stepping up will be leaders of the new school Stray and Sam Binga.
New Shogun recruit Joe Ford has been soaring through the ranks with his blend of the heavy and melodic, he’ll be playing b2b with Fourward. Not forgetting the debut performance from Neuropol, who’s EP for the label will be revealed soon. Bringing some of that vintage appeal will be Randall with one of his legendary jungle sets, that’ll leave you reminiscing of back in the day.
Of course no Shogun night would be complete without the legendary 2 hour throwdowns from label boss Friction guaranteed to destroy the dance and take no prisoners on the way. With all the usual suspects on the mic, you can guarantee SP:MC, AD, Mantmast and Linguistics will get you hyped up in typical Shogun style.
"Regrettably and due to circumstances out of both Shogun Audio and LWE's control, we have been forced to change the venue of our next London show in April to Fire. No stranger to hosting some of the best underground events in the city, Fire will make the perfect host for a night that will showcase the best in bass music. Nothing else has changed - expect cutting edge drum n bass from Shogun artists and special guests, plus LWE will be working their magic on the venue and beefing up the Funktion 1 sound system to give it that extra punch. Tickets already purchased for the event at Pulse will still be valid at Fire.”
