Following a pair of sold out parties in 2013, Contact returns to London's Village Underground on Friday 28th February.
Since its launch in London last year, Contact, curated by Youngsta, has been a hub for the dubstep community, drawing together a diverse crowd to experience the deeply-rooted forms of the genre in the context they're meant to be heard: a dark room, positive atmosphere, and a powerful sound system.
As usual, headlining at Contact will be Youngsta himself, drawing for the spacious, immersive and chest-rattling beats for which he's always been famed. One of the figureheads of dubstep since the beginning, early resident at scene-defining club night FWD>>, and the first DJ to play many of the genre's most loved anthems, Youngsta continues to be a hugely active figure in its development. His approach has remained unique throughout that time, with the founding ethics that defined the genre in its early years still remaining at the heart of his sets and shows on Rinse FM.
Joining Youngsta on the night are fellow Contact regulars Icicle and J:Kenzo, two of the leading lights of the UK's dubstep scene, alongside a host of others continuing to explore new avenues within the genre: regular Youngsta collaborator SP:MC, Biome, and Innamind label head Kursk. The line-up is completed by grime-rooted genre-bender Mumdance, fresh from the release late last year of his killer collaborations with Logos on Keysound.
Contact takes place at the Village Underground, Shoreditch, London, on Friday 28th February 2014 from 10pm until 4am. For more information and tickets, visit www.contactyoungsta.com.
