In the beginning there was JACK and JACK had a groove and from this groove came the groove of all grooves! From the deep delights of Fritz Kalkbrenner to the energetic jives of Flashmob the first and a three sellout shows with MK, the first few months at JACK have been an incredible journey. In keeping with the talented performers that have come before JACK alongside Abstract are proud to present a very special act indeed.
Laura Jones is someone who emerged from nowhere to become one of the shooting stars of 2012. From there she went on to cement her place in the dance community with some stellar productions and a reputation for setting dancefloors alight.
A protégé under the Visionquest banner and nurtured under the wings of Leftroom, Laura exploded into the public consciousness in 2011 with her deep and intrinsically melodic version of house. Her ‘Live A Little’ track was included on the ‘Visionquest Spring’ sampler, and her breakthrough single ‘Love in Me’ stormed the Beatport chart and held no.1 spot for several consecutive weeks – the second time courtesy of stellar remixes from Maceo Plex, Kate Simko and Eats Everything.
2012 was an amazing year for the in-demand producer with a star spangled release schedule, including remixes for Hollis P Monroe’s classic ‘I’m Lonely’ on Noir Music, as well as Inner Place’ on Crosstown Rebels, along with the full artist EP for Visionquest, More recently the prolific producer found time to remix one of house music’s all time legends Romanthany alongside Gavin Herlihy. Following stopoffs at Circoloco and Enter during the summer it appears the Button Factory is her next port of call for what is sure to be a standout show.
