Hat-Club - Back to Belfast! Friday 30th May, 2008
Hat-Club blasts back to Belfast to throw another night of hat-tastic house beats, alongside the city’s best Friday night party, Kinetik.
The trendy MYNT club is the home to Kinetik and both welcome back Hat-Club with open, loving arms. Hat-Club has become part of the family round these parts since its first appearance in October 07 and again in February this year. Set at the opening to the Cathedral Quarter, MYNT attracts a rather fashionable type of crowd and as we know - hat’s, fashion, and house music are match made in heaven!
Before divulging in the juicy line-up – let us just recap those famous Hat-Club rules; don’t talk about Hat-Club, and don’t forget your hat! Okay, we can now move on.
Embracing Hat-Club’s policy of funky head gear and filthy house music is production ace, Jason Herd. Currently remixing the forthcoming Subliminal Sunset Sessions album with partner in crime Jon Fix, Herd is a Hat-Club regular; whilst some DJs try way too hard to be cool, Herd is a natural for playing rockin’ house music getting hands in the air with his mash up sets that make his sets truly unique.
Next in the booth is the Hat-Club resident and all-round, upward spiralling talent, James Fitch. As part of the outfit Prok & Fitch – these boys can do no wrong. They’ve just landed back in UK after playing at Roger Sanchez’s Stealth party in Miami and have bags of remix and production work on the table for Seamus Haji, and Kraak & Smaack, plus the huge ‘Outro Lugar’ due in May on Stealth Records.
Kinetik’s own Dale Hooks is also on the bill. His distinctive style of house music, evident in his production and DJ sets, has gained him slots not only around Northern Island, but on Europe’s favourite clubbing isle, Ibiza at Café Mambo and Eden, and closer to home at Ministry Of Sound, London.
Usually found at residencies in Southend, Brighton and London, this date is just one of many international tour dates that Hat-Club is currently embarking on; from Colchester to Cardiff, to Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Hat-Club will also host its own stage at Gatecrasher’s Summer Sound System festival in Northampton on Sunday 25th May. To check out HC’s festival debut, tickets are available from www.hat-club.com
