Gazebo continue their monthly party at the Horse & Groom on Friday 7th February with special guest Richard Fearless aka Death in Vegas.
Richard rose to prominence as resident DJ and promoter at the Job Club during the early 90s, inviting DJ heroes Derrick May, Andrew Weatherall and The Chemical Brothers to play alongside him. A subsequent residency at London’s hallowed Heavenly Social club and the release of Dead Elvis, his first full length under the name Death In Vegas, positioned him, somewhat reluctantly, as leader of the emerging Big Beat scene.
Death In Vegas’ widely acclaimed second album, The Contino Sessions, saw a musical shift towards electro, dub, rock and psychedelia reflecting the diverse musical palette Richard acquired through years of fervent record collecting.
His latest album Trans Love Energies is heavily influenced by the early Chicago house and techno sounds that made such an impression on him as a teenager. Richard's production preference for 303s and 808s bleeds through to his track choices as a DJ - just take a listen to his excellent acidic mix for Rinse FM.
As ever, the Gazebo DJs will be in support.
