Following our party earlier in April with the Chromatics, Ame & Studio we have secured another date at the Cafe 1001 Warehouse Space for a 2 room midnight till mid-day hedonistic excursion, which will combine cutting edge live performances by artists from within (the leftfiled disco) genre and some distinguished selectors.
This time we decided to go for a more psychedelic, dark, synth inspired and horror movie take as common ground for the party and we are looking forward to see what mystical element each artist will bring to the night.
Naturally, we decided to team up with long standing quality imprint DC Recordings, and as it happens Rich Sen's and Neil Beatniks aka PADDED CELL album 'A Night Must Fall' album release date coincides with the date of our party.
We have some special give aways (limited edition mix CD's and promo's) for those who'll make it down!
For those who are curious what PADDED CELL sounds like, ..they draw from sources as diverse as Goblin, The Velvet Underground, Bush Tetras, Arthur Russell, Prince and Carl Craig.
Another live performance comes from Zombie Zombie, a vintage analogue synth and krautrock dancing duo, who record on Versatile. If you haven't heard them yet, they can be summed up as 'Can meets Suicide meets Cosmodrome meets LFO meets John Carpenter meets Sonic Boom.
DJ action comes from ANDREW WEATHERALL & TREVOR JACKSON, they need little introduction and their influence on other musicians, producers and DJs is
well documented. Andrew is known under the moniker Sabres of paradise, 2 Lone Swordsmen and Trevor has help popularise a cowbell and post punk live instrumentation dance sound via his now defunct Output Recordings imprint.
He signed acts like LCD soundsystem and the Rapture when they were unheard of.
Finishing proceedings in Room 1 will be Richard Sen, one half of Padded Cell and Bronx Dogs. Richard is a man of various talents. Known to be one of the UK's firts Graffitti artists, he has also been behind the counter of the Music & Video Exchange in Notting Hill with fellow digger of the highest order Sean P. for over a decade now. Expect some oddball, never heard before sounds..
ROOM 2 will have an equally interesting vintage disco twist.
Those who have bee down to Mo Morris' Electric Stew or Tropical Hotdog Parties know of their psychedelic nature, so we're looking forward to a special A MOUNTAIN OF ONE DJ set.
Rounding up proceedings nicely will be ANDY BLAKE of label du jour DISSIDENT records, an anything goes limited edition label, whose releases fly off the shelves faster than most others.
Finally, in true magnetic style we (Chingas & Neilo) will (do our best) to add our own rock to the game, more datails on what exactly later via some CHARTS (if we get it together) :-
