EarToGround returns on Friday October 25th with a Halloween party at the perfectly chosen Crucifix Lane venue at London Bridge.
We are VERY happy to bring three of Techno's leading and prolific names, Jonas Kopp, Reeko and Markus Suckut...
Visa issues have been sorted and yes Jonas will defiantly be coming this time round. This will be his very first appearance on UK mainland. He is equally excited as we are at the prospect of performing for you guys for the first time. Jonas always puts on an show. His sets are flawless and exciting. As soon as you hear his trademark rolling drums on Crucifix's 'Funktion One' you will know what we mean. He's a past ETG remix artist who also now has his very own EP upcoming on EarToGround. Maybe we will hear the tracks for the first time on the night?..
Few would dispute Jonas Kopp as being one of the most prominent and exciting figures to emerge from Argentina in recent years. An accomplished producer, in-demand remixer and versatile performer, he has fast transitioned from Buenos Aires’ best-kept secret to one of contemporary house and techno’s leading lights, on a par with genre-defying luminaries such as Levon Vincent, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann and Ryan Elliot.
Jonas’ music career began early on; by 19 years old he had made his first full length CD under the name of Area 64 whilst working as resident DJ at a popular FM radio station. In 2006 he made his debut proper on Pfirter’s MindTripRec imprint, and has been flirting with a myriad of styles ever since. But whether it’s deep Chicago-inspired house (Curle), or driving basement-ready techno (Stroboscopic Artefacts, ETG, Ostgut Ton), cavernous basslines and mesmerising rhythms flavour his eclectic discography throughout.
Next up one of the elite of Hispanic Techno you have Reeko. A long serving master of the genre with an outstanding discography as long as your arm. Reeko's story started back in 1997 when he first started Djing but he's more recently known for his strong connections with the excellent 'Pole Group' which he joined in 2008. On the frontline of this group is Oscar Mulero, indisputable leader of the darkest Iberian techno, joined by the Asturian duo Exium and the surprising and experienced Christian Wünsch.
Our final headliner and another past ETG Remix artist, from Germany we proudly bring you the excellent Markus Suckut (Figure/SCKT).
Markus’ own musical history began in 1999, at the brink of the new millennium an interest in electronic music was awakened in the young, Germany-based Markus. At the time it was less about committing to one musical direction, than about the excitement of DJing and testing sonic limits. Carried along by the excitement of these inital impressions Markus began to teach himself to mix and within a few short years his first productions followed.
His own productions are best described plainly and simply with the word techno, techno which often and willingly becomes dub. His sets are wide reaching, and even if they have a common basis it’s difficult to describe what exactly they have in common. Perhaps it is soul, a bit of dreaminess and a tendency towards melancholy that best characterise Markus and his music.
Completing the bill you have the VERY capable London label residents, Dax J, Gareth Wild and Chris Stanford.
Its gonna be a night of some seriously dark and scary Techno.
Fancy dress is not compulsory but feel free to come dressed up if you so choose. Expect to leave shocked and terrified.
* ADVANCE TICKET PURCHASE IS STRONGLY ADVISED *
See you all on October 25th,
