Saints Don't Sleep Birthday Showdown

  • Come this September 13th we will be celebrating one year at Brixton Jamm and to mark the occasion we have an absolutely sumptuous line up in store for you: Hailing from Holland, it is with great pleasure that we welcome HOMEWORK to headline our birthday show. They are two of Amsterdam's proudest musical assets and it is in the city's Concerto record shop where they nurtured and developed their passion for house music in its many different forms. They have gone on to produce a succession of EPs of the highest quality, predominantly on timeless Berlin based label Exploited as well as a blinders on 20:20 vision and Jesse Rose's 'Made to Play'. Highly regarded internationally, we cannot wait for them to bring their blend of chicago infused deep house to SDS. Considering the magnitude of the occasion, it would simply be rude of us not to invite Saints favourite NICHOLAS back over from Perugia, Italy. This time he will be playing a DJ set of tracks carefully selected from his Encyclopaedic knowledge of house and disco classics. Nicholas has a musical portfolio that has commanded respect across the dance music world with releases and remixes on some of house music's more revered labels. Quintessentials, Kolour, 4Lux, Needwant and Disko to name a few. He has also extended his discography beyond that of the above and created his own imprint which comes in the form of the highly regarded vinyl only 'No More Hits' label. This show is all about family, hence why we wouldn't dream about having this birthday celebration without the NIXWAX nixfam representing. ROB AMBOULE is the man of the moment. With huge summer releases out on Nixwax and 20:20 vision this man is clearly destined for big things. The Nixwax Allstars (Alec Function & Hunter Giles) will be opening and closing Room 1 and we really can't stress enough just how good the vibes are whenever they are behind the decks! On top of this we will also be welcoming two very SPECIAL GUESTS. We'd love to tell you who they are but that would spoil the surprise ! SDS residents The Menendez Brothers will be igniting the latter stages of the night with their unique party sets incorporating and effortlessly blending the best of hip hop, soul, garage, house and general classics. SDS resident and the man behind 'The Crescent' records, Mr Alex Crescent will also be playing one of his ever enjoyable party sets combining hip hop, house and everything in between. We're happy to invite back the connaisseur of disco, soul and all things funky, Will Puddle.
