At Hidden Agenda we are all about pushing things on and we will be giving two of the most up-and-coming artists their Irish debuts; FINNEBASSEN & LEON VYNEHALL.
We have long been admirers of Norwegian producer FINNEBASSEN. Although he has been producing music and playing gigs in his hometown of Oslo for a long time, 2012 has when he first found his way on to the Hidden Agenda radar with his anthemic track ‘If You Only Knew’. He followed that up with an imaginative remix of Prince – When Doves Cry, which saw his profile rise even further.
His track “Touching Me” reached the number one spot on Beatport’s Deep House chart and his remix of Brandy track ‘Baby’ has also been picked up, and now soon to be released by UK based bloggers and label, The House of Disco. They have also featured his track ‘Bleedin Out’ on their recently released ‘House of Dikso’ compilation. Warner Music are soon set to release a remix from Finnebassen of Parachute Youth – Can’t Get Better than This.
The guitar you hear in many Finnebassen tracks is Finn himself playing: a note to his true understanding of music. Respecting the work of his peers, he lists artists such Maceo Plex, Solomun, Art Department as his influences. But, it is his own version of silky smooth house by which he intends to impress.
Support on the night comes from LEON VYNEHALL. Despite only releasing two records last year, the Brighton-based producer undeniably made his presence known in 2012, even as he refused to reveal his true identity. His last record, "Gold Language" b/w "Don't Know Why," had quite an impact—and his three-track Rosalind EP has had a lot of plays at Hidden Agenda HQ. His recent mix on XLR8R consisted of vintage funk, soul, and disco. So expect a bit of that alongside some proper deep house that featured on his boiler room mix.
