Technokunst presents Marcel Dettmann and Substance (Live) - Two Years of Technokunst

  • We’ll sit the 2nd anniversary this December of the decision, that embraced and joined Isu, Dork, the rest of the team of Technokunst and A38 to bring artistic and valuable techno back to Budapest in the frame of an ever-so-serious club-series, introducing techno not only as the genre itself, but also it’s surrounding cultural environment. Our dream became reality: we’ve presented you such a palette of artists, that it actually called the heat of the international scene’s attention on us. We’ve brought you young talents, danced together to the sets of the Great Elders hand-in-hand swimming in the sea of nostalgy, been to the dark foundries of British soils, our organs got shaken by incredible dub-basses of Italy and we continuously immerse ourselves into Berlin’s postmodernity. Now, on our second birthday, let us present you an international superstar, who not only merged all the formerly mentioned styles into his own particular taste of techno, but absolutely reshaped the very ground of the entire field. Marcel Dettmann is the man, who is responsible for making Berlin a techno-capital again, the man, whose presence is more, than necessary if you want to call your festival a techno festival, the man of popular demand. The man, who is the resident of the church that is called Berghain. With a special talent and sense for improvising, he melts all kinds of elements coming from Manchester, Detroit, Chicago into his sets that are more accurate than a team of pitlane engineers. Dettmann also tied techno music with his jaw-dropping remixes to such artists as Fever Ray, the Junior Boys, Modeselektor or Scuba. To sum it up: Marcel Dettmann is a must-see. Marcel’s music will be massive, rough and raw, but elegant, relieving and modern at the same time - and will last for three whole hours. Isu is going to provide the wonderful warm-up, and Dorka - as usual - will pick up the thread until the early morning where our foreign guest left it. The visual arts will be at the hands of the Glowing Bulbs, as they do since the last two years. As a kind birthday surprise, Substance (of Chain Reaction and Scion Versions) joins the line-up to present a lovely live PA. Come, and celebrate with us!
