on the sly

  • Time to get wavey. June is here and on.the.sly is ready for our first one night stand of the summer. Who better to coax out our inner freak than San Francisco's finest 5kinandBone5? Bursting onto the scene via Sinden's Grizzly imprint, few "new" producers exhibit the versatility these cats are endowed with. Their current catalog stretches across a wide range of BPMs and influences, curled up in the sheets with labels like Mixpak, Fool's Gold, Unknown to the Unknown, Scion A/V, Mishka, Top Billin', T&A and Kitsune. Representing the home team steps up Mess Kid. Hands down one of the hardest working DJs in NYC, you can find this dude E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E. Ripping through ghettotech, booty house, trap and hip-hop, his sets are full of infectious grooves that lure the crowd into his control. A dominating force behind the wheels of steel, he also knows a thing or two about production. "Sip Slow" is simply a banger, and the rumors of collaborations with on.the.sly alumni DJ SLiiNK have us salivating. To round out the guests in June, we finally land Philadelphia's tropical don Bombé. Those in the know understand he's been doing his thing for a minute, and if you scour the interwebs for free beats like we do, you'd find a host of edits and remixes out there he's graciously offered up. Also one of the minds behind the James Drake mixtape, Bombé will be bridging the gap between the waves and traps while reminding us its still summer and time for the exotic. $5 well drinks 10-11p $4 rolling rock all night NO COVER MEANS NO LINE. walk up to the front and let them know you're here for on.the.sly (the leftmost door)
