Besides being a respected and experienced DJ with 15 years of parties under his belt, Rob also co-runs Skam Records, home to Gescom, Boards of Canada, and Bola. He has provided DJ support to Autechre on most of their tours, and opened for Bjork in Reykjavik, as well as playing countless smaller parties alongside people like Aphex Twin, Ceephax Acid Crew and Matthew Herbert.
His spectacularly open-minded dj sets transcend the usual boundaries, incorporating classic and cutting edge techno, electronica, rave, and electro. Rob deftly blends genres and moods while maintaining a constant forward momentum and the all-important groove, moving mind and feet in equal measure, and giving testament to his longstanding involvement in the underground electronic music scene.
Skam, the Manchester-based label he co-runs, has had a massive impact on the electronic music scene, releasing records from a stellar roster including Bola, Team Doyobi, Marco Passarani and Boards of Canada's earliest releases. The label is also home to Gescom, an amorphous collective of artists featuring Autechre, Mego artist Russell Haswell, and Rob himself.
His monthly mixes (available at http://www.rob-hall.co.uk) have been consistently impressive, using digital media and vinyl to showcase a wide variety of electronic music, and have confirmed his reputation as one of the most influential and highly regarded DJs in his field.
In support we have a selection of Bristol's finest techno djs; Jim Petherwick, Luke Malcher, Paul Purgas (under_score) playing the hottest electronic sounds around.
