Poker Flat is a label that has the ear of every hot
underground house DJ and now it’s brightest rising star Guido Schneider headlines Global Breakthrough's Festival Launch Parties on 30 November at a secret location in Cape Town and 1 December at Carfax in Jo’burg.
Poker Flat Recordings was founded in 1999 by the legendary Steve Bug. The label turned heads and ears with its stripped down approach and came to define the 'minimal' sound as it is now known across the world.
The young label scored a massive world wide clubhit with Bug's first release 'Loverboy' and has gone from strength to strength attracting some of the most revered artists in the world including Richie Hawtin, Trentemoller, John Tejada and of course rising star Guido Schneider.
In 2006 Guido released 'Focus On' presenting an exciting new album-concept on Poker Flat. 'Focus On' is an album of impulsive and funk driven minimal techno and features six new tracks plus some of Guido Schneider's best releases and remixes.
"With my productions I want to create a groovy base surrounded by strange trippy and coiled up heading elements. The general tendency in my music is minimal house whereas it gets technoesque by all means."
Guido has been seen mesmerizing all of global clubland's hottest dance floors from Ibiza's Circo Loco at DC10 to London’s favourite haunt, Fabric.
Now Guido Schneider makes his SA debut.
