DJ profiles below:
The Western Allstars are DJs Hatch and Thief who are joined in production duties by Sam Hill and Simon Arblaster. They began DJing together at Passenger circa 2001 and always inject their sets with large chunks of funk. Hailing from villages within the West Country they took it upon themselves to throw parties at any opportunity, much to the annoyance of cows, farmers and the surrounding village communities. But, there are only so many times you can be told to “Get off my land!” before realising that a move to the bright lights of London is needed; after all the streets are supposedly paved with gold Co-owner and co-manager of West Records, DJ and music and video game junkie
Nine Lives the Cat is originally from Australia and is now one of the hottest multi-skilled artists on the London and worldwide scene. He is Diverted's vocalist in their live band, his rap features on many recent releases on West Records, Flat Out and Sokolov, and on many collaborations include likes of Peo De Pitte, Missill, Rennie Pilgrem and Madox. He also writes his own music which doesn't have boundaries of genre, influenced from hip hop to punk, down tempo and chill, electro, rock, house, reggae, classical funk and breaks. This summer he excelled at the Glade festival as host MC in the breaks tent and after appearance on Annie's Radio 1 show, NSB and I-breaks, and gigs in Cargo, Chew The Fat, Se One and many more, he is unstoppable!
McQueen - Harder, faster, louder – not a bad motto to live by but surprising for someone who looks like the milky bar kid. Alex is a founder member and resident of the legendary Technique in Leeds and over the last nine years along with co-founder Kid Blue has played with a huge range of djs and producers from across the spectrum of underground dance music both around the UK, and abroad in Spain, Poland, Japan and Ukraine. Now playing guitar for live project The Cleaners in addition to his own productions which have already received air play from Annie Nightingale, McQueen's future is looking bright.
Ash and Mark Sinergy co-founded Social in March, now approaching it’s 7th party have had guests including ALI B, Diverted, The Groove Diggerz, Def Inc, Mr No Hands, Sick Rick, Kid Blue, Refunk, and more. Elsewhere this summer they’ve played abroad at Kazantip beach festival and at home alongside Tayo, Janette Slack and a variety of guests on their fortnightly NSB Radio Diverted Traffic show.
WaxJellyFish is a fresh new face to Social, watch this space for this up and coming female producer already renowned as the pioneer of wrong step.
As you can see, this is not one to be missed!
All the best, the Social Crew
