Killer presents Switch(UK), Boys Noize(Germany), and The Glimmers(Belgium) in the Abandoned Cinema Complex in the heart of Melbourne's CBD on November 24th.
Following the massive success of their Justice, Bloc Party DJs and MSTRKRFT gigs, Killer continues to bring the very best eklektik elektrik muzik, showcasing three HUGE internationals under the one roof.
The usual hush of the theatre will be shattered on November 24th when these three international heavyweights tear apart the Abandoned Cinema Complex, a previously deserted (possibly haunted) venue in the heart of the CBD which has a date with demolition. Combining warehouse-party ruckus with multiplex amenities and the signature Killer makeover, Killer: Switch, Boys Noize and The Glimmers will undoubtedly be the biggest blockbuster of 2007.
One of the hottest names in music, Switch's cheeky approach to production has built him a healthy reputation as a fresh, risk-taking producer, consistently delivering quality cuts that fuse elements of techno, house, old school funk and a large measure of what one could call nu-speed-garage. His tracks Get Ya Dub On, A Bit Patchy and This Is Sick were instant club hits. Switch's remix services are in high demand, and he has collaborated with many of contemporary music's greats, including Busta Rhymes, Basement Jaxx, M.I.A., The Chemical Brothers and Armand Van Helden.
Sporting a Banquet-sized remix portfolio, Boys Noize promises a captivating performance, particularly after the success of his recently released album, Oi, Oi, Oi. Hot property throughout Europe, he has reworked everyone from Bloc Party to Marilyn Manson and his music is no stranger to the playlists of Erol Alkan and Soulwax. His sound is in your face and NOISY, but you wouldn't want it any other way!
The Glimmers have achieved stardom through their aptitude for remixing; most notably with their rockin' installments in the DJ Kicks and Fabric Live series, along with remixes of Bloc Party, The Killers, New Order and Calvin Harris. With little regard for era or genre, The Glimmers deliver a seamlessly mixed brew of punk funk, vintage acid house, disco-tech, sleazy pop and nu wave sounds that are effortlessly cool. Fun, fresh and quirkily eclectic, these twins have all the ingredients for a good time.
This huge lineup is joined by the excellent supporting cast of Ajax, Harris Robotis, Boy+Girl, Mr. Hands, Emillionzzz, Avant-Grade, Ooh-EE, Rusty Trombone DJs + More TBA
