Since summer 2006 this unusual and eclectic series of parties has seen live performances and DJ sets from the likes of Metronomy, Mystery Jets and HTRK to The Oscillation, Midnight Mike and Andy Blake, across a number of London venues, big and small.
As always, Walk The Night is hosted by residents Alex Egan and Benedict Bull, who - as former DJ duo Skull Juice - have played some of the most influential and legendary clubnights in the UK, such as Trash, Optimo, Bugged Out! and Fabric as well as across Europe and beyond. Since ceasing back-to-back DJ duties, they continue to pursue a number of other musical projects. Ben is a familiar face at Phonica, where he's worked for the past 5 years, and is currently engaged in various acts of Chicago House musical historianship. Alex produces under a number of different aliases, such as Astronomer - remixing the likes of The xx, Glasser, Joakim, Foals, the aforementioned Metronomy and many more - and The Draughtsman, with an EP release imminent.
With a uniquely open-minded musical policy and an ample 9 (!) hours to exploit it, Alex and Ben will be playing the balearic game in the true sense of the word, with a big bag of records ranging from Dub, Afrobeat and No-Wave to Disco, Electro (proper Electro) and House/Techno, covering all the ground in between and beyond, usually 'til the ground is all covered in sweat and dirt and dancing feet.
