2011 has become our favourite year of running Holic as we believe the parties just keep getting better and better! It is your spirit, energy and support that makes Holic the party that it is – thanks guys! You’ve inspired us and we can promise that there will be some exciting new projects from us in 2012.
But before we let you in on the secrets we have in store in 2012 we have one more party planned that will take you from New Years Eve well into New Years Day. Due to popular demand, we will be returning to The Old Truman Brewery Warehouse & Cafe1001, the site of last years New Years Party that saw almost 3000 of you attending over the 16-hour event. This year we will again be running the biggest party in the heart of East London on Brick Lane!
Holic are proud to be working in association with legendary London party Lost and have secured a lineup worthy of such an institution. Headlining is one of the true originators of techno music, a man as Detroit as they come and one of the Belleville Three: Mr Juan Atkins. Releasing music under his own name as well behind the aliases Cybotron, Model 500 and Infiniti, Juan is responsible for producing many of the timeless Detroit classics that we still love today and that have inspired millions. Djing for 30 years he has developed a knowledge of the that few can match. We are hugely honoured to have Juan throwing it down for us!
Next up we are happy to invite back Chris Carrier from France. Chris last played for us on Halloween in 2010 as part of our Robsoul Records showcase and impressed us so much we have been trying to get him back ever since. With over 100 production credits under his belt, he’s been an underground icon for the past decade. Never chasing the limelight, almost darting around it in all manner of guises and musical styles, Carrier is nevertheless revered today as one of the most prolific and gifted producers on the dance scene today. With 2011 being one of his busiest years for DJ gigs it seems we aren’t the only one’s he has been impressing.
Completing the lineup of guests is the man behind Lost, Steve Bicknell. Steve is a veteran DJ and producer of the early UK dance music scene and a musical visionary, using his Lost party as a platform to showcase groundbreaking music. Producing under the moniker LOST for Perfecto and Mute Steve went on to establish Cosmic Records and subsidiaries Clubtracks, Lost Recording and ID, giving voice to productions from producers such as Luke Slater, DJ Rush, Tyree Cooper, DJ Funk,Jay Denham and many more. Lost recording being indicative of the seminal LOST sound. Such was Steve's vision that Lost was first to book latterday luminaries such as Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Dan Bell and Robert Hood. As a truly international DJ, Steve has traveled the world with his unique representation of Acid House, Chicago House, Techno and for more experimental sets a firm grasp of everything from reggae, to italo, to broken beat.
Joining our headliners will be our residents Tomoki Tamura and Eightbitrate, with the full line up listed below.
As it is New Years and we have a warehouse space we will be investing in our best production to date. Our ever-excellent 3 man visual team of [.hek], Kohey and KAZ are already working on producing the stimulating visuals that makes HOLIC a true audio-visual experience.
So whether you want to see the New Years in with Holic, join us for your afterparty, or have the stamina for the whole marathon rave of 16 hours, we’d love to toast a drink with you! Snap up those early bird tickets because they are flying out already!
