We're very happy to announce an extra special and extra large edition of Audio Culture! We've got some partying to do as this night at Amsterdam’s finest venue marks both our 1-year anniversary and the launch of our very own record label.
To help us celebrate we've invited some of our favourite DJs from home and abroad.
BENJI B (BBC Radio 1, Deviation, UK)
Most people will know Benji B as he’s no stranger to Amsterdam, however this will be his first time playing at the capitals premier venue, Trouw. Those who were there to seem him at the Colors stage during this year's Appelsap festival, will be as excited as we are to have him back.
Benji is one of the UK's most respected DJs. Renowned worldwide for his radio shows and club sets alike, he is seen as a leader in the future music movement, mixing hip hop, house, soul, funk, dubstep, and more, seamlessly taking his audience from one genre to the next.
Alongside his weekly BBC show on 1Xtra Benji has been running his club night Deviation Sessions in the East London's Gramaphone for almost two years at which have played the likes of Flying Lotus, J Davey, Martyn and Skream to Moodymann, Dam-Funk and many more. It is now widely regarded as one of the very best club nights in London.
JON CONVEX (Instra:mental,3024, NonPlus+, UK)
Jon Convex will be joining Benji B from London for his first show in Amsterdam. You may know Convex as half of the amazing Instra:mental duo which he forms together with partner, Boddika. He has released on Martyn's esteemed 3024 label, his own NonPlus+ and [nakedlunch], and has a remix forthcoming on our very own Audio Culture label.
Alongside these heavy hitters from the UK we're very proud to be joined by two of Amsterdam's finest DJs and producers.
CINNAMAN (Colors, Viral Radio, Audio Culture)
We could very easily call Cinnaman the headliner of this night. A staple name in the diet of any bass loving music fan, Yuri Boeselie has been at the forefront of this city's musical education. It's almost unimaginable that you do not have fond memories of one if his sets at his own Colors and Woo Riddim nights or from his epic performances at Appelsap and Lowlands this summer.
PRESK - Live (Fourth Wave, Ten Thousand Yen, Audio Culture)
Pieter Presk Willems has gone from strength to strength this year with releases on internationally renowned labels such as Fourth Wave and Ten Thousand Yen. Presk will be performing a very special live set of his own productions, blending elements of House, Garage, UK Funky and Techno guaranteed to make you sweat.
AUDIO CULTURE LABEL
The first official release on the Audio Culture Label will be out in November and available on Vinyl and Digital from all good record stores.
