After David Rodigan and Toddla T set the standard at Headlock in February, it was always going to be hard to top. However, for our third party we may just have done it as we present man like PEARSON SOUND aka RAMADANMAN aka MAURICE DONAVAN aka Mr. David Kennedy.
This year has seen Pearson Sound rise to the forefront of the UK scene as a producer who keeps making tunes like you never heard before. With his influences reaching from Techno to Garage to Dubstep and even Baltimore Club Music, Kennedy's sound is rhythmically rich and encapsulating and never ceases to catch you off guard. Without doubt Pearson Sound is responsible for some of the biggest tunes from 2010/2011 such as “Work Them” – “Stifle” and his eerie remix of Jamie Woon’s “Night Air” to name but a few….
Residing in Leeds, Kennedy runs the label Hessle Audio which he cofounded with fellow producers/DJs Pangaea and Ben UFO. Now almost 20 releases deep from acts such as James Blake, Blawan, Untold and Joe and with support from Radio 1's Benji B to Ricardo Villalobos, Hessle has established itself as a label which music collectors and enthusiasts look up to and expect only the best from.
