Berlin's world famous reputation is as a place where one parties, then parties some more. But it's really a place where extreme joy meets sophistication. A twilight zone of experiential creativity and dance. Berlin has pushed its electronic music to exacting specification, then tweaked it further. It has an undertone so loud you can feel it. It is an epicenter of a unique frequency of techno and house music that has traveled through the entire world. To New York, Detroit, Tokyo, Moscow, and on, thousands of times over. This music is a key element of the contemporary art scene that is rebuilding and revitalizing Germany’s greatest city. Deep within this structure is a musician and DJ named Sammy Dee. Come spend the night dancing with Sammy Dee at the Goethe Institut and celebrate contemporary Berlin culture in its truest sense. With a career in electronic music spanning now two decades, Sammy Dee has built and solidified a reputation for himself as an innovator of eclectic, off kilter sounds. He began to DJ in Kassel in the late eighties, soon after which he moved back to his hometown of Berlin, hosting residencies at such clubs as Tresor/Globus and Ostgut. A particular night, which made Berghain's Panorama Bar famous, and which still continues to a packed house, is "...get perlonized," one of the most consistently successful club nights in Europe. Organized together with his production partner and Perlon record label co founder Zip, at “…get perlonized” Sammy puts together a showcase for the unique sounds of Perlon that influences many worldwide. Sammy's unique blend of stripped down house and techno sets have always proven to be one of the foundations of the night. There is no doubt that he is recognized as one of the key veterans of Berlin's electronic music scene.
