After a couple of months off Stay Plastic is back and this time we're teaming up with the good folks at La Cheetah to bring you a bonafied legend in the shape of Dutch master, STEVE RACHMAD!!
Steve Rachmad has to be one of the hardest working men in Techno today! Since the early 90's he's been releasing his own very distinctive brand of Techno/Electro under a plethora of pseudonyms, his body of work to date is literally staggerin...g. The releases may have been coming out thick and fast since the early 90's but his obsession with electronic music started in the early 80's when he would make mix tapes by cutting and pasting tracks together on a open real tape deck. By 85 he'd bought himself an 808 and started to amass what must be a pretty breathtaking studio. His productions over the years have varied with the different guises he's used but all have had that same analogue warmth and that unmistakable edge that only he seems to be able to create. His seminal 1996 album "Secret Life of Machines" under his Sterac guise is widely regarded as one of the best pieces Detroit Techno to come out of Europe and his releases under monikers such as Ignacio, Sterac Electronics and Parallel 9 (to name a few) on label's such as Tresor, M-Plant, Music Man and 100% Pure have kept his name at the top of the bill where ever he plays. This really is a once in a life time opportunity to see a true Godfather of the scene play in such a small venue so make sure you don't miss out!!
No Stay Plastic residents this time, instead we give up the slot to the Glasgow/Bridge of Weir institution that is Alan Currie. He'll be bringing the place to boiling point for 2 hours before Rachmad so we advise you get down early to catch him in action!
