  • Please find details of the Horse & Groom New Years Eve spectacular 2010/2011 and what a party it promises to be with a evening planned of the finest music, drinking, dancing and celebration taking place over all three rooms of Shoreditch's fav party pub . The whole venue is going to have a dramatic transformation too with each floor having a different makeover theme alongside some crazy visuals and plenty of surprises to make the party a night to remember. Now a little about each of the three room host's Discovery, Fragment & Bad Dimension and our special headline guests Horse & Groom favourite and disco producer and remixer du jour Ray Mang and Rob Mello Ray Mang (DFA/ Mangled) Taking inspiration from the extended disco mixes, dub versions and edits of such luminaries as Larry Levan, Walter Gibbons, Daniele Baldelli, Tee Scott, Began Cekic and Tom Moulton, and the open minded music policies of some of the pioneering early clubs such as the Paradise Garage, the Loft and the Italian Cosmic parties, Ray Mang has set out to help keep the glitter ball shimmering and the disco flame burning into the new millennium! Forthcoming remix projects coming up for Bonar Bradbury, Virgo 4, Soupacar, Gorillaz, Cantoma, Martin Brodin, Max Skibba, 9DW, Django Novo, Rampi, Free Energy...As well as two new Mangled releases for 2010 in the works still & the new Glimmers album co-written & produced by Ray Mang - out on Gomma now! http://www.myspace.com/raymang Discovery Discovery was launched last year as a weekly party, soon becoming the ubiquitous Sunday sessions at the lovely Horse & Groom where guests including Jamie Jones, I:Cube, Move D, Rob Mello, Pete Herbert, Pilooski, Trevor Jackson, Ivan Smaghee & Tim Paris, The Revenge, Steve Kotey, Craig Richards, Brennan Green, Max Essa, Ray Mang, Richard Sen, Simon Lee, Curious People, Nathan Gregory Wilkins & many more were invited to play extended sets and delve deep through their vast collections to provide a magic carpet ride in sound showcasing their key influences ranging from funk, Soul & Disco to Early House ,Chicago, Electro, Dub,80ïs dance and dark pop,rediscovered unclassics through to more modern sounds. When residents Neil Thornton (Lasermagnetic) Dave Rose & Argentinean Disco don Guille Bo play together, expect a nonstop party of rediscovered unclassics alongside more modern house and electronic delights where the most important aspect is about the making sure that everyone is having the best possible time and having a Fiesta as Guille calls it London based DJ and Producer; Rob Mello has recorded, produced, and remixed a diverse catalogue of releases since 1992. One of his guises was the pioneering disco and house duo Disco Elements/ Sensory Productions, Previously signed to Azuli Records. Rob was also co-founder of the saucy house label Luxury Service and produced the first Black Science Orchestra single with Ashley Beedle, "Where were you", released on the legendary London house label, Boys Own. Since then Rob has been appearing regularly on Classic Records and after 10 years of releases for this label has produced the very last release on this ground breaking label (Cat nos 000). Rob has also made the move into film score work. In 1999 Rob, with Matthew Herbert, was responsible for writing all the incidental music on the UK club culture movie, Human Traffic for which they were up for nomination for a BAFTA. Rob has been DJing since 1986 and has pioneered his own style that is much in demand with various regular appearances and residences all over the world, far too many to mention! Fragment Fragment aim to end 2010 with a bang. Following on from the success of their monthly Friday endeavours, residents James Fragment, Mad as Hell and Moman will be taking over the upstairs bar for a riotous blowout of gargantuan proportions!! All the usual suspects will be there..Indie, Disco, Funk, Soul, HipHop, Drum & Bass, 80's and a bit of House...why not.
