Bleep43 finishes an eventful 2010 on Friday December 3rd at CorsicaStudios, welcoming back Surgeon and DJ Pete for their annual all-night marathon of techno and dubstep. Joining them from Italy will be Rome's Donato Dozzy and from Turin, Passenger and Xluve playing live.
With the likes of Derrick May, Patrice Scott, Urban Tribe and Legowelt gracing their parties in the last year, Bleep43 has become an essential part of London's electronic music scene. Their parties have helped establish Corsica Studios as one of the most vibrant and enjoyable places to witness forward-thinking house and techno in the capital. They've also recently celebrated the start of Bleep43 Recordings, a label dedicated to music from the night.
SURGEON & DJ PETE
Surgeon and DJ Pete return for the third installment of their annual Bleep43 all-night DJ sessions. The two of them originally played together at the old Tresor club in Berlin and reignited their partnership in 2008 after a hiatus of nearly a decade. Surgeon has established himself as one of dance music's most singular DJs, having made a name for himself in the mid-90's with a number of landmark techno singles and albums on labels such as Tresor and his own Counterbalance, most recently releasing a mix CD for Fabric this
summer. Pete Kuschnereit aka DJ Pete is a central figure in Berlin's techno and dubstep scene, recording under the Substance alias and forming one half of Scion, whose Ableton reshaping of Basic Channel's
singles was a landmark release for the software. When not DJing at Berlin's infamous Berghain he's to be found at Hardwax or on the decks at Wax Treatment, the night he runs with Mark Ernestus.
Rome's Donato Dozzy made his UK debut for Bleep43 back in June 2009 and such was the reaction to his 4 hour set that it was only a matter experience behind the decks at Rome's Brancaleone club, his unique
style of ambient, almost psychedelic techno has seen his reputation as a DJ rise spectacularly in recent years, helped by a long stint as the backroom DJ at Berghain and his now legendary closing sets at Japan's
Labyrinth festival. He's been busy in the studio as well, crafting the critically acclaimed debut album "K" for Further earlier this year and releasing on labels such as his own Dozzy imprint, Prologue, Curle and
Mental Groove. April's volcano cloud put paid to his last scheduled appearance but he's now back for a highly anticipated return to Bleep43.
PASSENGER & XLUVE
Andrea Di Maggio and Marco Schiavone, both from Turin, are known as Passenger & Xluve, composing live deep, hypnotic techno and electro on laptops and drum machines. They also run a night in their home city
called JustMusicMakers, inviting acts to play from around Europe, including Bleep43's own Plant43 and Jo Johnson earlier in June this year. Andrea has released a number of records on EclipseMusic and the Glaswegain label Slabs of the Tabernacle.
