THE HOXTON LIVE SESSIONS – THURSDAY 12th August PRESENTS:
TWO WOUNDED BIRDS
Two Wounded Birds are the sound of your parents getting stoned, tanned and in love, spending long summer days at the beach or the lido in the 50's and 60's. And so the revival is underway. Definitely one of the bands to see live this summer, the band were hand picked to support The Drums on their upcoming UK Tour, as a matter of fact singer Jonathan Pierce refused to play unless TWB’s would support them at their sold out NME Radar gig at The Garage, London. Tales from Margate sun drenched in glorious melodies and perfect pop hooks. Catch them in a small venue before it's too late.
'Despite being totally pitch-perfect with their pierced-tweeter bubblegum-boogie they still look like they come from Margate' – NME
Brought together by a mutual admiration for the passion, song writing styles and soaring summertime melodies of the 50's and 60's, the band recorded their first demo only days after their initial meeting. The four boys bonded over song writing and their shared experiences growing up around the bustling London music scene and as quickly as they offered their demo online, the music bloggers kicked up a fuss and the band were approached by the legendary White Noise Records all the way in LA. Their beautiful harmonies and knack for writing summertime anthems clearly fit perfectly into the LA music scene.
White Noise Records loved the songs so much they offered to put out the band's debut EP both in the US and UK, and here we are today. Recorded in Epping Forest, the EP is marked for an early August release with a series of promotional gigs around the country to celebrate. We hope you join the party.
+ DJ’s CRASH RHINO, LUCIFER CORNBEEF & FALLING DOWN DJ spinning records through till the early hours.
