DO IT! getting spicy tropical in el Norte with the help of;
MWESLEE live (vigo, es)
Much like his namesake breakfast cereal - Mweslee packs an eclectic punch of nutritional boombap; mixing the tropical unknown with heavy flavas and machined funk. Although something of a big name in the international 'beats' game, his latest EP ('Eurocarne' out on Kindred Spirits offshot Nod Investigators) demonstrates his abilities as a music producer and talent across many genres. The EP has moments for electro funk, 2step, beats, bagpipes and even some cinematic orchestration. 2010 is a big year for this Galician beat maestro with shows at Sonar alongside fellow Arkestra member Bflecha to add to his usual globetrotting in Glasgow with LuckyMe, Amsterdam with Beat Dimensons, Barcelona and beyond. Big one Oslo - get lucky and catch this guy live and fresh from his 2010 Sonar show!
TELEPHONES dj set (berlin, de)
From the tropical bump, grind and swagger of Mweslee to the smooth and pulsating pineapple limbo of Norway's Telephones. One of the most exciting new electronica acts to come out of the Norsk peninsula from the past few years - Telephones has earned a reputation for dancefloor driven tropical electro grooves. With shows such as at the seminal Ekko Fest already on the CV and productions coming up for Prins Thomas's Full Pupp - his recent Berlin move seemed like a natural elevation. For this night Telephones will be digging deep in his crates for a DJ set.
DJ URAKI RIDDIM and INKO live (tønsberg, no)
Digging the crates and spinning the wax that joins the dots - DO IT! resident Uraki Riddim will be dropping in with some blends from dub to broken to dadjazz alongside the smokey space beats of Tønsberg based Inko. Hidden away in the the cultural little brother of Oslo, Inko is part of the Stereoptico crew which has members involved in Red Bull Music Academy such as Cohoba and Dam Beer. Inko brings a new dimension to the Oslo music scene and this is his live debut!
VJ POP COM and CUPOFILL visuals (oslo, no)
do it!'s second lady; gallic belle vj pop com's visuals utilize cinematic referenced, multi-coloured and playful imagery to set the mood every shindig she plays. Fresher than Colgate and fresh from the PehcaKucha stage; Cupofill will be setting up a special installation to draw, paint, sketch and catch the evenings riddims LIVE from opening until closing time.
