  • Altær continues to build cross-continental relationships, inviting Cleric, P.E.A.R.L. and more to BASEMENT. After a series of standout EPs on revered labels like Arts, Soma and Figure, Manchester artist Cleric launched his label Clergy in 2015. His debut, tone-setting transmission “Codes of Chaos” defined the label with heaving, greyscale severity shrouded in ethereal mystery. This makes him a perfect fit for Altær, where techno becomes a ritual of hedonistic asceticism. Spanish-born, Berlin-based P.E.A.R.L. has become unmissable in the last few years. Since the project emerged in 2009, he’s been responsible for one cruising banger after another. On his own Falling Ethics label or on imprints as respected as OAKS, Pole Recordings and Mord, P.E.A.R.L. breathes fresh life into granite thick arrangements. Altær founder and resident Auspex is notorious for his seething, elemental sets. Over the last half-decade, he’s established himself in NY as an unwavering practitioner of techno’s darkest arts. Brazilian DJ Cashu is a major force, both as a DJ and activist. The Mamba Negra co-founder is a renegade on the decks, swerving between throttling techno, dank bass wobbles, furious drum n bass and deliciously lysergic byways. As an advocate, her influence in her community is undeniable. Mamba Negra has thrown street fairs, multi-genre events and raves in abandoned, disused spaces, helping to build sorely needed spaces for queer expression in São Paulo. madison moore is also a vital voice in the current musical landscape: a cultural theorist, professor, author of “Fabulous: the Rise of the Beautiful Eccentric” and much more. None of these notable accomplishments, however, overshadows their DJing, which can move from, in their own words, “easy breezy techno” to more raunchy jack tracks to careening high-octane sci-fi mindscapes. ■ No photos or videos ■ No phone use on the dancefloor ■ The dance floor is for dancing, not conversation ■ No glowing/flashing clothes or items ■ Respect other people's space, no shuffling ■ Consent is mandatory ■ Zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism or any form of discrimination ■ Take care of each other, alert our staff if somebody isn't feeling well ■ Violating the house rules will result in removal ■ Ticket purchase does not guarantee entrance
