  • Wrecked invites two excellent up-and-comers for their October edition: House of Altr’s Devoye makes his BASEMENT debut. The Bronx-born artist rides a thin line: jacking techno, thick, bass-heavy beatdowns, wild vocal tracks and crunchy electro all find their footing together. Influenced at turns by Detroit’s rich futurism and the heydays of the NY club continuum and rooted in Jamaican heritage, Devoye can slip between epochs and tempos while retaining an unshakeable core. Ron Like Hell opens BASEMENT, following a triumphant closing set at Sustain-Release. The last years have seen his rise to unprecedented prominence. His sets bring a darkly swung sauciness and a psychedelic undertow that is immediately captivating. In STUDIO, Miami’s Sister System takes the lead. The Omnidisc artist is a significant contributor in the city’s burgeoning club community. Her Objects Don’t Dance podcast series presents her peers in an artful light, while a recent set alongside Ben UFO for Rinse.FM shows she’s ready for the world on her own terms. Rolling, humid and infectious, Sister System’s sets are a perfect fit for STUDIO’s longer timetables. Ryan Smith joins her. His sets are always a standout, moving with a licentious, sleazy energy. His masterful pacing, fathoms-deep collection and bold touch make him one of the city’s finest. ■ No photos or videos ■ No phone use on the dancefloor ■ The dance floor is for dancing, not conversation ■ No glowing/flashing clothes or items ■ Respect other people's space, no shuffling ■ Consent is mandatory ■ Zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism or any form of discrimination ■ Take care of each other, alert our staff if somebody isn't feeling well ■ Violating the house rules will result in removal ■ Ticket purchase does not guarantee entrance
