  • We all know there's a housing crisis, but what can tenants do about it when our landlords won't even fix our apartments? Join us for a panel and community discussion about our individual rights as renters, forming a tenants' union, and the statewide movement to change rent laws in our favor. We'll hear from Brooklyn Eviction Defense, the Met Council on Housing, Ridgewood Tenants' Union, and a tenant lawyer, before opening the floor to an audience Q&A (including answering specific questions about how to deal with your own landlord). Violence, non-consensual touching, racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, ageist or other discriminatory language, and leering are not allowed within our walls or in our back yard. If someone says or does anything to make you feel uncomfortable while you’re here, let us know.
