Hold on to your cheeks, clench those thighs and grind your molars, like rats in the kitchen, WE’RE BACK FOR ANOTHER SNACK.
Sadly The Cause is on pause so we’ve dawdled down south to the immaculate setting of Venue MOT. Both the gaffs, twice is nice, 18 and 20, two rooms for the price of five, we are selling you a surprise.
In venue 18 we have the London debut of S-candalo! Emerging from a grotesque city of night people, fantasists, vice and intrigue, S-candalo manage to leave le danseurs boiling, plump with sweat, and simultaneously frozen under their icey spell. Berlin has fallen for their demimonde style and now it is the turn of South Bermondsey’s denizens to be cooked to perfection.
Alongside S-candalo we have Parris to welcome you, and Call Super to bid you farewell. If you need an introduction to these two perhaps you’d better come and say hello for they are your hosts.
Across the starlit asphalt twinkles Unit 20. In there we welcome (all the way from Washington DC) the wunderkind soso tharpa! I’ve only been once but the locals tell me that the city is also one of fantasists, vice and intrigue, and similarly they wax lyrical the talents of young tharpa. Having made a sensational debut at Rhythm Section earlier this year, we hope to suffer similar palpitations in November.
AND. For a touch of continuity. There is someone else. Someone who performed at The Cause. She will remain nameless but her passion for RnB has yet to be fully quenched, so it is with those files and styles that she returns.
If we are all doomed then let us be doomed together, dancing under the same tin roofs, snacking with the same sweet rats for another November night. Love you all, Call Super, Parris and the Transmissions crew.
