The SLST Live concert meets DJ special showcasing the profound and truly funked up audio skills of 3 stunning live bands, including headline act BLACK LIVES FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION (LIVE), featuring 13 internationally renowned artists (then to now) including MARCUS STRICKLAND (Sax), REGGIE WASHINGTON (Bass + Vocals), DAVID GILMORE (Guitar), SHARRIF SIMMONDS (Spoken Word), GENE LAKE (Drums), MARQUE GILMORE (Acousti-Lectric Drums + FX) + More, live and very direct. With additional Live support from Manchester based Jazz Hop artists THE 3RD ESTATE and brilliant Violinist / Loop Artist BEKA REID + THE TAPP COLLECTIVE (LIVE). BEKA REID AND THE TAPP COLLECTIVE (LIVE) - Band on stage around 7:15pm / 45 Min live set Rebekah Reid is a vibrant and versatile violinist, composer, producer and loop pedal artist specialising in classical and jazz repertoire, improvisation and composition. Combining classical string techniques with electronics, Rebekah crafts unique sound worlds creating a tonal narrative that captures a listeners' imagination. JAZZHEADCHRONIC (SLST HOST / DJ) plays between the bands and from 1045-1230am Smashing it since 91, South London Soul Train host JAZZHEADCHRONIC is Renowned for his positively aggressive and highly charged eclectic good time sets of soul, funk, groove, motown, disco, latin. One things for sure, whenever or wherever plays, the dance floor blows up and the crowd always, but always feel it. Long time!!! PERRY LOUIS x AITCH B (DJs) - 1230am-3am Perry Louis is one of the UK's top old-school jazz dancers and founder of JazzCotech. Through a dance career spanning more than 25 years he has amassed a lot of records and can now boast a collection of over 20,000. As well as DJing regularly at London's only monthly jazz dance session, Shiftless Shuffle, Perry has DJ'd all over the UK and abroad including Ireland, Den­mark and Japan. AITCH B: (SOUL 360) Aitch B has been a long-standing a member of the world-famous musical collective SOUL II SOUL, since meeting Jazzie B, in 1983 and is one of “The Original Funki Dreds” From the blues parties and warehouse scene to the birth of London’s “Original Rare Groove” era to the groundbreaking Sunday nights at the Africa Centre to the then legendary Friday nights at The Fridge, Brixton, Aitch was there on the cutting edge playing tunes that really mattered. Pure Fire Incoming!!! The South London Soul Train (as always) will be taking, all passengers on a Non-Stop Magical Mystery Tour through all things Too Damn Funky. P-Funk to Jazz Funk, Soul Jazz to Rare Groove N’ Stax, Brass, Breaks, Bop and Hop to Motown, Club Classics and Anthems.
